Shelley and I have had the privilege of eating dinner, brunch, banquets, celebrating birthdays many times over the last few decades and without fail the service, food and atmosphere has been absolutely wonderful.
If you get to the downtown area of Halifax by the Public Gardens you really should pop in.
The coffee has hit just the right spot for me on many a cold day.
The mussels with the wine sauce, Escargot, French Onion soup, minestrone soup.
The only problem is there are so many good choices.
Liz the owner is an absolutely fantastic hostess and will be happy to greet you in both of Canada’s official languages..

The dining experience was incredible, and the nostalgic atmosphere transported me back to my junior high and high school days. The Aracini Rosoto balls were a perfect start, followed by the Moroccan Chicken crepe, and the Lemon parfait pie for dessert., I then stole some of the leftover milk and cookies, which included some of the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever tasted. I will undoubtedly return for another meal.

Absolutely the best dinner we have had in a long time. The atmosphere is incredible but the food will leave you speechless. We had the shrimp for an appetizer, lobster risotto and scallops for dinner and finished with their famous lemon curd ice cream.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the prices were more than fair! Would highly recommend!

Gosh it’s so kitschy and charming in here.
Don’t expect to be taken to France – It’s Canadian food for sure. We had the steak which was perfectly cooked and the blackened haddock was very nice too.
I certainly think some of the food could use a level up. The baguette was disappointing. Drinks were nothing to write home about. The lemon dessert kinda tasted freezer burned.
But hey, it’s cute in there & the service was absolutely top notch.

The atmosphere was very welcoming with a nice French twist. Excellent service and exciting cocktails paired with a nice selection of apps make this the place to go in Halifax. The beef bourginon was very tender and covered with delicious garlic and onion sauce. We also tried haddock and it was lemony delicious. Highly recommended.

Chill vibes and great food. Ordered a salade and an onion soup. Quite enough for just one. The dressing for the salad was amazing! (Kind of roasted bacon dressing…) And most importantly, I have never seen so many cheese in an onion soup!!

Le Bistro by Liz never disappoints. Service is excellent. Love the lemon parfait pie – light and refreshing – ate it too quickly and forgot to take a picture. I rarely order soup at restaurants as I find them usually very salty. The onion soup here is perfect! For the entrees, they do give you value for your money. We have yet to try every single item on the menu. Can’t wait to go back.

Food was amazing, the best hollandaise sauce of my life! Service was fast and friendly, food got here really fast too (within ten minutes at 11:30 on a Saturday). Interior is so cute, really feels like a little terrace in Paris. Definitely recommend. You also get a free mimosa or Caesar with brunch, so eggs Benny and a mimosa for under $20 is amazing!

Their weekend brunch menu was awesome. The big breakfast was generous and yummy. Pancakes were buttery and fluffy as cotton. Avocado on SD was alright, albeit a tad smaller compared to the rest. Good vibes and friendly service.
