I started with a really lousy canned cocktail. Skip it, for sure!
Dinner was a total of 3 items.
First up was the bulgogi bao. The flavors were there but the use of ground meat was a miss in my opinion. This was the largest portion of the three and came across as generously filled despite the reasonable price.
Second was their lemongrass chicken. The bird was nicely prepared, juicy, flavorful and tender. The bun was appropriately chewy and the slight sweetness imparted by the rice flour was really tasty. Sauce was present but not potent. All in all, good but somewhat forgettable.
Last one was their tempura shrimp. Two pieces of just about perfect shrimp were topped with a slaw concoction and a couple of sauces, one was Mayo-based and the other was probably eel sauce. This one was the best of the three by far! I loved the crunch, the sweetness from the shrimp and the bun, the tang of the slaw, all of it. Incredibly well-balanced and skillfully-executed few bites that delivered exactly what brought me in for dinner.
Next time I’m going to try the ramen soup and other delicacies!
Nice place in town to enjoy the weekdays.
Ramen had great flavor and nice presentation.
The nachos were a pleasant surprise, much better than I could’ve imagine and the little Korean style cinnamon pancake was very delicious, it was like going back to Korea for a bit! I would definitely go back
First off the interior is very unfriendly and uncomfortable to sit at. The bathrooms were quite dirty as well. You order at the counter like fast food but they ask you for a tip during checkout. 2/10
The food was mediocre at best. I am used to baos and buns from Chicago so I was not impressed. The bbq bao was dry and had no dipping sauce. It was also very large so hard to eat. Would have rather had 3 smaller ones vs one large one so the taste was better. It was also not very hot by the time I got it. 3/10
The Philly cheese stake bun was pretty good and was the only thing that made it worth eating. 8/10
The crab Rangoon order was 4 for $7 and they are mostly wanton and zero crab. I mean absolutely no crab. I used to make these and they must not use very much crab or anything in there mix and the amount of filling you her was so small it was hardly worth the effort. Most of it was the hard ends. The little you did get was okay but again no crab so not really worth it.
They also have a sign that says don’t clear your table but the tables stayed dirty the whole time I was eating and after I left.
If you have a need for some food it’s okay just not the best.
