The square Sicilian pizza is legendary. The thick, airy crust is perfectly baked, the tomato sauce is rich and slightly sweet, and the cheese sits beautifully underneath the sauce — a unique and delicious twist that makes it stand out from any other slice in NYC. Every bite is comforting and full of flavor.
And of course, you can’t leave without trying their famous spumoni. Creamy, colorful, and refreshing, it’s the perfect way to end your meal. It adds that nostalgic Italian-American touch that defines the place.
The outdoor seating area creates a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. It’s lively, casual, and feels like a true Brooklyn gathering spot. Despite being popular, the service remains efficient and well organized.
If you want authentic, classic New York pizza with history and personality, L&B Spumoni Gardens is non-negotiable. Iconic, flavorful, and unforgettable. Highly recommended
Pro-tip: Don’t even bother with the parking lot; go for street parking.
Must-orders:
• Sicilian Pizza (The best!)

Overall experience was great, will come back again!
The food tastes like the heroes you get from the best pizzerias and they obviously focus on the sauce the way it’s intended like real Italians would.
I only had the tomato Sicilian with vodka sauce, meatball hero with fresh mozzarella, and shared a chicken parm with vodka sauce. Each bite was delicious and the service was great despite being busy.
On the way out, the guy remembered my name and asked how was the food. I said, it was amazing and it definitely was. Come try this place out. There is also pasta as well.
Parking is a bit crazy and people were double parked down the block, waiting to get in. You must try it if in the area!!
Sorry as i didn’t get the usual photos I typically don’t when trying places out but trust me, it’s good. They also have this ice cream boat that people order for special occasions. It’s a mix between pistachio, chocolate, and creamoso ice creams with cones and piled high. You can find pictures of it in other reviews.
Ok – to the point: the pizza was really good! The 6 of us got a 12 slice rectangular pie, and it was crispy where it was supposed to be and the sauce was fresh and just so good. Recommend.
The pasta in my experience was overcooked, soggy, and gross with no real cohesive sauce. Hiding behind giant portion sizes won’t make it any more enjoyable.
The calamari was sad and the garlic bread would probably go hard in a high school cafeteria- but that’s about it.
The pizza is fine though. The pizza is fine.
Friendly atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the slice fell flat this time. It wasn’t left in the oven long enough, and the sauce on top was cold, which is a deal-breaker for me. The sauce itself actually tasted good, and the cheese was good quality as well, but the slice simply wasn’t warmed through say.
To be fair, it was around 11:30 in the morning and they had likely just opened, so that may have played a role. Because of that — and because I love the concept — I’m giving it a 5/10 for this visit.
I would absolutely come back and give it another shot. Sauce on top and cheese on the bottom is a great idea, and I’ve honestly never seen it done before. Today just wasn’t their best execution, but I’m open to being won over on a return visit.
We have a tradition that began when I was young and I continue it with my girls and has been going strong for 19 years now: every holiday season, after we take the kids to see the Dyker Heights lights, we head straight here for dinner. It’s also my go-to spot year-round whenever I need to swing by and grab a half-square (because let’s be real, no one does a thick crust with the sauce on top like L&B).
This recent visit, after seeing the Dyker homes, we headed here also to celebrate my friend Joe’s birthday. He has never been to Spumoni as he was not from Brooklyn. Lenny came right up to our table to say hello and immediately made us feel like family. He is such a class act and truly made us feel at home. He went totally over the top to make Joe’s night special, bringing us his favorite appetizers on the house and even surprising us with a dessert special on the house that was just incredible.
As always, the food was 10/10 and that pizza is consistently delicious. It’s rare to find a place that holds onto its magic for decades, but L&B never misses a beat. Thank you, Lenny, for taking such amazing care of us! We’ll be back soon!
