It’s been a while since we have gone to the Lazy Flamingo, and it’s definitely a bit different than the “Old Lazy Flamingo.”
We went on a Monday night (the week between Christmas and New Year’s) and the food was okay; however, the kitchen was extremely slow and overwhelmed. It took about 40 minutes to get our food after ordering.
Not a terrible choice if you’re looking for something extremely casual, just make sure you go during a time where they aren’t super busy.

I had a great lunch! Reasonable prices for the Island and the food was good. Great place to stop after a nice bike ride! My boyfriend said these were “The Best French Fries he has had in a long time…”

The restaurant is very welcoming. I am from Miami where kindness is not common, even in places that are service oriented so I delighted to experience the warmth from the staff here. I was a in the mood for fresh grouper and they did not disappoint. It was delicious and worth going back for. I was able to watch the FSU vs Alabama game which was great. I see myself going back next time I am in town. The shrimp was a overcooked but I can work with that.

Great little eatery with island vibes! I had the conch chowder with an apatizer of conch fritters. It was delicious, filling and reasonably priced. It also offers both indoor and covered outdoor seating for those beautiful Florida days!

OPEN FOR BUSINESS! The main restaurant is finally open again and lost none of its charm. The Lazy was always a great Sanibel spot to enjoy cold drinks and a great menu and the new oyster bar should be completed shortly. Can’t wait!

So yummy! Met a friend for lunch and my grouper sandwich blackened was fantastic a yummy tartar sauce, waitstaff super accommodating. Sat outside in the covered well shaded area.

We took a party of 8 to eat lunch. The waitress handled us like a pro. Friendly at every turn. I highly recommend the buffalo shrimp appetizer. We ordered a second one after we devoured the first one. I’d consider eating that for my meal. Delicious! If you like hot wings and shrimp. So simple but tasty. Considering 8 people said they enjoyed their meal and wanted to go back again…I think that says a lot about how we felt about our lunch. Most people had grouper. One had shrimp tacos. They looked really tasty with the mango salsa. One kid ate a hamburger.

my husband and i went for lunch after the beach. i was very pleased by our service. everyone was extremely attentive and friendly. shoutout to Bobby! he was very kind and welcoming to us. food was good as well. i got the grilled chicken ceasar salad, and my husband got the fried grouper basket with fries and tartar sauce. we very much enjoyed our lunch here and would go back! they’re doing a great job : )
