Stopped in for lunch while I was serving jury duty at the courthouse. It was really good and quick service! Your get chips and salsa as a little appetizer and I ordered the Birria tacos as my meal. The meat was really good and sauced up. I liked that they doubled up the tortillas and they had a crunch to it on some parts still.

I love everything about this place! Best pico ever served complimentary with chips, fantastic carnitas tacos, excellent rice and beans, cute decor, and outstanding service from Patricia! Juan, the owner, was on-site my first visit and checked in with me, then we chatted about the history of the location and his fine, family-run establishment. Such a lovely, friendly business owner!

Great spot for Mexican fare. Privately owned and managed by father and son. It shows for sure in the food and service. Owner even took the time to check on us and share some history on the place. Huge portions….great chips and salsa as well as fantastic margarita options. Fantastico !

Being my first Milwaukee layover in a few years I was eager to try Lazo’s because of everyone raving about the birria tacos.
I will say this, the moment I took a bite of the chips and salsa, I knew the food would be good. A good chips and salsa is a strong indication anywhere of things to come.
The birria tacos did not disappoint. The meat was tender, juicy and had soul in it and paired with the consommé it was phenomenal. All in all the food hit the spot.
Service was also excellent and the server with the glasses was very attentive.
I look forward to coming back on my next Milwaukee layover!
