Our servers, Savannah and Sirius, were absolutely wonderful. They were kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive, helping us navigate the menu and making us feel truly cared for throughout the evening.
One of the highlights for me was seeing Molokhia on the menu. It’s my favorite Egyptian dish, and when I mentioned that, Savannah immediately offered to bring the manager over. He graciously let me taste it before ordering and explained that it was the Lebanese version. It was incredible! Those small, thoughtful touches truly set Layaly apart and show how far they go to create a memorable experience for their guests.
We enjoyed everything from cocktails to our entrées and finished with the cookie skillet dessert. Every single dish was delicious, and the atmosphere made for such a special evening.
If you’re able to visit during the Christmas season, do not miss the decorations. And even if you go another time of year, this family-owned restaurant will absolutely win you over, just like it did for us. We can’t wait to go back.
The atmosphere is wonderful, the story behind this restaurant is very moving, but more importantly the food itself is absolutely incredible. I waffled for a long time on whether to get the chicken kebab or the Valentine’s special scallops entree, and I chose the scallops (which was absolutely the right choice!!). The scallops were the best scallops I have ever had, and I’ve had scallops at many upscale restaurants in the Atlanta area.
For appetizers We got the stuff great leaves, the falafel, and also the matcha shrimp. They were all good, but if I had to only pick one I would absolutely hands down pick the falafel every time. This is my favorite falafel I’ve ever had in Atlanta, and I would order the falafel every time I’m ordering from this restaurant in the future. Of the three appetizers we tried, the shrimp was the most expensive but also not my favorite (Not bad, just not my flavor palette).
Our waitress Kelsey was excellent, and took very good care of us the whole time we were dining there. I asked about making a virgin version of one of their drinks, and she assured me their bartender would be able to accommodate.
If you came here just for a main course, you’d probably escape spending about $30 a head. Because we had appetizers and few drinks (not even a drink person person), it was closer to $50 a head. Bear this in mind if you’re trying to stay on a budget, but also know that the food is absolutely worth the money!
Next time I go back I’m going to order the chicken kebab with falafel as an appetizer. I’m sure it will be delicious!
Fun side note: Sammy, the restaurant owner, makes a point to come around and say hello to each of the tables and make sure that you’re having a good experience. This reminds me of when Dante from Dante’s Down the Hatch would do this, and it really shows the dedication and care they put into their restaurants. Sammy has a great staff and it’s nice to know he genuinely cares!
Will definitely visit again.
