From the start we absolutely knew we were 16 minutes late to our reservation. That was our fault but we were seated immediately which we did appreciate.
However we weren’t greeted for a which is fine it’s dinner service on a Saturday we absolutely respect that. We finally got greeted by our server, she never told us her name. She didn’t ask if we’ve been in before which did bother us because we are first time guest and we did need help navigating the menu.
Every suggestion she gave was “well this is a best seller” and nothing else afterwards.
When I asked about two bottles she did not know anything about them, I asked for a Sommelier since they said online there was one available and she just told me “well they’re all just really busy.”
I ended up ordering two tasters for my partner and myself and we ended up getting a bottle. I saw her go behind the bar area where she pre opened the bottle and she poured the whole bottle into a decanter which we didn’t request nor asked for.
We ordered the beef tenderloin and the surf and turf.
We asked for medium rare for the beef tenderloin and we received it medium. The filet for the surf and turf was supposed to be prepared as a medium and I received it well done. On top of it we did not have any cutlery to slice into the entrees so we waved down our server asking for steak knives. She didn’t ask us how dinner was, when she walked by my partner asked if they could please remake my steak, she seemed very reluctant to do so.
A gentleman walked by us and said “I gotchu.” And my partner and I were both confused because we didn’t know if he was a manager or a shift lead but the interaction was short but turned us off even more.
The remake finally came out and it was just dropped off that’s it.. there was no check backs or anything.
We did finish our dinner and the remake did taste so much better and our entrees were overall good we did enjoy the lobster, Brussels and the mash. The green beans were not good.
Our server dropped off our check kinda aggressive and then took it back to make an “adjustment”
The adjustment was them accounting for the remake steak.
The whole experience was awful and just so disappointing, the best thing was genuinely the bottle of wine we share, the bruschetta and the bread they give you with dinner.
We’re debating on if we will return. This was our Valentine’s Day dinner and it was genuinely not what we expected.
We ordered the bone in ribeye, med-rare, and what we got was an abomination. I know bone in is harder to cook but this steak hit every spectrum of the temperature chart. This is what happens when you cook a steak too quick and then don’t rest it properly. If that wasn’t bad enough they terribly overseasoned it so much that they tried to cut through all of that by adding a pound of butter.
We also got the signature Mac and cheese. I told the wife that anything in bold on the menu is a scam but she really wanted to try it so we did. First one was, you guessed it, severely overseasoned. Garlic was the culprit here, someone must have unscrewed all the seasoning lids back there or something. It was obviously inedible so we sent it back. Second one that came was edible but just barely. Cheap corkscrew pasta tossed in a chalky, gritty cheese sauce.
I felt bad for the waitress, she knew it was all trash. She kept apologizing and we kept telling her it’s all good, not her fault. What I wanna know is where are all of these good reviews coming from? The owner must have a lot of friends because I wouldnt eat that pasta even if it was free. (It ended up being free, we didn’t eat it.)
Please people, I beg you to listen to me. This place is signature garbage.
He, himself, on his greeting, shared with my wife and I how he likes to microdose mushrooms and seemed to enjoy dropping f bombs and such.
A concern of mine is that he offered us alcoholic beverages over the phone without any reference to an ID, and both of those drinks never ended up on our tab. I mean that’s great but also felt like pressure towards a high tip.
But most importantly we ordered a $70 NY strip steak for my wife who DOES NOT say when she doesn’t enjoy food. I took a bite at the restaurant and thought it was inedible. She said she liked it. Well, she never went back to finish her $70 steak. So I did. And I’m sorry this is nasty. This is literally a steak I would get from Denny’s, and now I might even be more likely to get a steak from dennys before coming back here for one, which was the sole entree we were coming in for.
Bad first impression unfortunately. I really enjoyed the menu and there was a busser that took great care of us.
They were out of what my partner originally wanted, so we ordered the wagyu burger instead. The burger was super bland and the bacon on it was SO overly salty. Not a good burger. A waste of wagyu…
I unfortunately had an even worse go. I got lobster risotto and while it didn’t taste off, it definitely didn’t taste fresh. The seasoning was again very bland, but the worst is that I’m 99% sure it gave me food poisoning.
After a sleepless night we both agreed we would never be going back. A very disappointing experience when the bill was as high as it was….
And I genuinely would urge the owner to take a close look at the cooks and their lobster.
I would also genuinely caution anyone from ordering their seafood.
Happy hour is a highlight, especially the expertly made Old Fashioneds, smooth, balanced, and done right. The steaks are cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, making every visit feel like a treat. It’s the kind of place you genuinely look forward to all week and can count on every time.
