Service is good: friendly, quick, and no fuss
Food hits solid. The tom kha soup was tasty! All entrees have real flavor. Portions are generous, prices fair
One of the better Thai spots in Huntington Beach
Shoutout to Charlie and Mimmie for being great servers who took care of us and were very attentive.
The sampler was good, had variety but again, it kinda tasted like a bunch of frozen things fried and presented, did taste good!
I got the pad Thai and it was a decent pick! 16.00 ish bucks
Yesterday was an emotional day for me and my husband, and after our ceremony for my mum we needed to find a place close by to feed the monks before noon. We found Lawa Thai Restaurant by the harbor, and I’m so glad we did.
It’s a small strip-mall spot, nothing fancy, but the food was honestly excellent. I ordered the Chicken Panang Curry and the Spicy Eggplant with chicken, and both dishes tasted authentically Thai — not the fusion style you get at many places.
Even the Thai monks mentioned how pleased they were with the food. They usually prefer not to eat at Thai restaurants because so many aren’t truly authentic, so for them to say they enjoyed it really meant something.
The Panang Curry was my favorite — rich, fragrant, full of kaffir lime, and the chicken just melted in my mouth. The eggplant was delicious too. (Rice is ordered separately, which surprised me, but the flavors made up for it.)
Service-wise, it would have been nice if there were an extra server to help, but for a one-woman show she did great. Things were a little slower, but definitely not her fault — she handled it with grace.
For my first visit, I’d say this place is a real gem. I hope they keep cooking with this level of authenticity because it truly shows. I would definitely come back.
I found this on ig and really wanted to try here..Finally came but I was pretty disappointed with the taste of their food.
They were all bad 🙁
Sampler was not fresh and tasted like they were factory made and been in the freezer for long time before they fried them..had that taste and smell.
This seafood curry inside coconut shell looks cool..and it only looks cool. It was pricey and taste was nah
My friend’s noodle was overcooked and salty so she didn’t like it either.
Sorry but I won’t be back again.
