As expected from its top-floor location, the view is absolutely stunning.
The nighttime skyline in particular is breathtaking and easily the highlight of the experience.
The menu focuses on classic Italian dishes, with fairly standard offerings.
Nothing too adventurous, but everything was solid and genuinely good.
Despite the upscale image, the prices were more reasonable than I expected.
If you value atmosphere and views over experimental cuisine, this is a very satisfying choice.
I accidentally arrived about an hour late due to a timing mistake, but the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, which left a great impression.
Highly recommended for a special occasion or for enjoying a memorable night in Singapore.
Best to book a dinner on the balcony as the sun sets (6:30-7:30pm slots) to maximize the stunning views of the city from different angles.
As to food, I gave a 3/5 since it could be better. I’ve paid for less in some other restaurants which offer more delicious Italian food. For example, both the “the meatball” and the Seafood Fra Diavolo with lobster are both a tad bit sour and acidic (see pics) for our taste (could be different with others who prefer stronger tomatoe-y tastes.) however, the Bucatini carbonara and the salmon oreganato are our favorites to pair. The Carbonara is rich and flavorful, while the salmon is very soft and fresh. Overall, the food has generous portions which could be good for sharing.
The staff were wonderful and not invasive.
The restaurant is well known for its signature meatball dish, which is undeniably distinctive and visually striking—quite photogenic, in fact. However, while the presentation was impressive, the meatballs themselves were slightly lacking in juiciness, with a texture that leaned a bit dry. The salad was respectable and competently prepared, though it did not particularly stand out.
The steak, on the other hand, was genuinely satisfying. The exterior achieved a beautiful caramelized crust through the Maillard reaction—lightly crisp with a delicate char—while the interior remained tender and generously infused with juices. Upon slicing into it, the aroma of the beef rose immediately and invitingly. It was, without question, the highlight of the meal.
The ambiance deserves special mention. From the lighting and décor to the carefully curated music, every detail contributed to an atmosphere of romance and subtle mystery. Yet the true masterpiece lies outdoors: the breathtaking panoramic view of Singapore’s most iconic skyline. Situated on the 57th floor, the restaurant offers a sweeping nightscape that elevates the entire experience. If one is fortunate enough to be seated outside—weather permitting—the evening becomes even more exceptional.
In all honesty, the cuisine alone may be described as good rather than extraordinary. However, when paired with such an unrivaled view, the experience becomes something memorable and worthwhile. Although the prices are undeniably on the higher side, I would still consider it a destination deserving of at least one visit.
A small tip: there’s a minimum spend of 30 SGD per person, so it’s good to keep that in mind. Making a reservation was very easy, though. You can book right on the ground floor of Marina Bay Sands, Tower 1, and the process is quick and hassle-free.
For food and drinks, we tried the Marina Cool cocktail, Reginette seafood alfredo, chicken marsala, and the LAVO tiramisu. The seafood alfredo leaned a bit too salty for my taste, but the chicken marsala was genuinely good—tender pieces of chicken in a generous portion. The tiramisu is enjoyable, but be aware it contains fish gelatin (it used to be beef gelatin), so it’s worth checking if you have dietary restrictions. We also appreciated the complimentary bread basket that arrived shortly after we sat down.
Overall, LAVO is a great pick for a memorable dinner with incredible views and a wonderfully festive vibe.
Everything we ordered for lunch was delicious, and the overall atmosphere made the experience feel extra special. We’re already planning to come back in September to order my new favorite drink— la dolce vita!
Additionally none of our dishes came with pasta on the side, something that isn’t really mentioned, so if you order the shrimp you get two shrimp, that’s it… the chicken parm, you get chicken on a bare plate. It’s the first time I have ever ordered chicken parmigiana without receiving pasta with it.
The Caesar Salad is fantastic. Highly recommended.
Lastly, I’ll mention the cake. The twenty layer cake. It is tall, it is photographable, it isn’t very tasty. It is a crunchy peanut butter forward dry cake. Shrug.
PS their pepper shaker was comically large, we made some jokes. It was almost the size of my daughter.
