I visited LAVO at Marina Bay Sands, located on the 57th floor.
As expected from its top-floor location, the view is absolutely stunning.
The nighttime skyline in particular is breathtaking and easily the highlight of the experience.

The menu focuses on classic Italian dishes, with fairly standard offerings.
Nothing too adventurous, but everything was solid and genuinely good.

Despite the upscale image, the prices were more reasonable than I expected.
If you value atmosphere and views over experimental cuisine, this is a very satisfying choice.

I accidentally arrived about an hour late due to a timing mistake, but the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, which left a great impression.

Highly recommended for a special occasion or for enjoying a memorable night in Singapore.

definitely worth the money.

Best to book a dinner on the balcony as the sun sets (6:30-7:30pm slots) to maximize the stunning views of the city from different angles.

As to food, I gave a 3/5 since it could be better. I’ve paid for less in some other restaurants which offer more delicious Italian food. For example, both the “the meatball” and the Seafood Fra Diavolo with lobster are both a tad bit sour and acidic (see pics) for our taste (could be different with others who prefer stronger tomatoe-y tastes.) however, the Bucatini carbonara and the salmon oreganato are our favorites to pair. The Carbonara is rich and flavorful, while the salmon is very soft and fresh. Overall, the food has generous portions which could be good for sharing.

The staff were wonderful and not invasive.

My first visit was for dinner on April 2, 2019, and to this day, the memory of that evening remains vivid and cherished. I still remember making the reservation shortly after checking in at the Marina Bay Sands—a decision I was quietly pleased with.

The restaurant is well known for its signature meatball dish, which is undeniably distinctive and visually striking—quite photogenic, in fact. However, while the presentation was impressive, the meatballs themselves were slightly lacking in juiciness, with a texture that leaned a bit dry. The salad was respectable and competently prepared, though it did not particularly stand out.

The steak, on the other hand, was genuinely satisfying. The exterior achieved a beautiful caramelized crust through the Maillard reaction—lightly crisp with a delicate char—while the interior remained tender and generously infused with juices. Upon slicing into it, the aroma of the beef rose immediately and invitingly. It was, without question, the highlight of the meal.

The ambiance deserves special mention. From the lighting and décor to the carefully curated music, every detail contributed to an atmosphere of romance and subtle mystery. Yet the true masterpiece lies outdoors: the breathtaking panoramic view of Singapore’s most iconic skyline. Situated on the 57th floor, the restaurant offers a sweeping nightscape that elevates the entire experience. If one is fortunate enough to be seated outside—weather permitting—the evening becomes even more exceptional.

In all honesty, the cuisine alone may be described as good rather than extraordinary. However, when paired with such an unrivaled view, the experience becomes something memorable and worthwhile. Although the prices are undeniably on the higher side, I would still consider it a destination deserving of at least one visit.

Dining at LAVO on the 57th floor turned out to be a really lovely experience. The moment we stepped out onto the terrace, the views completely stole the show—especially in the evening when the whole city seems to sparkle. The atmosphere was vibrant and stylish, and with all the Christmas decorations around, the place felt extra festive and a bit magical. We were greeted warmly at the entrance and guided to the outdoor seating area, which made the start of the evening feel relaxed and welcoming.

A small tip: there’s a minimum spend of 30 SGD per person, so it’s good to keep that in mind. Making a reservation was very easy, though. You can book right on the ground floor of Marina Bay Sands, Tower 1, and the process is quick and hassle-free.

For food and drinks, we tried the Marina Cool cocktail, Reginette seafood alfredo, chicken marsala, and the LAVO tiramisu. The seafood alfredo leaned a bit too salty for my taste, but the chicken marsala was genuinely good—tender pieces of chicken in a generous portion. The tiramisu is enjoyable, but be aware it contains fish gelatin (it used to be beef gelatin), so it’s worth checking if you have dietary restrictions. We also appreciated the complimentary bread basket that arrived shortly after we sat down.

Overall, LAVO is a great pick for a memorable dinner with incredible views and a wonderfully festive vibe.

We made a reservation in advance and were so happy to be seated at the exact table we requested, such a great start to our lunch! If you’re planning to visit the top of Marina Bay Sands, we highly recommend dining at LAVO Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar instead of paying separately for the observation deck. You still get the same breathtaking views, but with the added bonus of enjoying a delicious meal and drinks (with a minimum spend per person).

Everything we ordered for lunch was delicious, and the overall atmosphere made the experience feel extra special. We’re already planning to come back in September to order my new favorite drink— la dolce vita!

A unique, luxurious dining experience in an iconic venue on the rooftop in Singapore. Friendly service, a little slow at times but perhaps due to it being busy and having to adjust due to rainy weather. I loved the drink I had with dragon fruit. Our food was good. We enjoyed the focaccia bread in the complimentary bread basket very much. I had the meatball which was huge and had nice flavor. I would’ve liked some pasta to be offered with it. My wife enjoyed the salmon, particularly the chickpea salad that accompanied it. For dessert she happily enjoyed the tiramisu. I understand that for such a special venue and ambience the price will reflect it but I found it to be reasonable for such an establishment minus the lack of free water. The tap water in Singapore is already perfect, there’s no need to charge $3 per person for filtered water.

The meal we had there is from January 20th – The view is one of the best in Singapore, at probably it’s most famous building. Ana was the best waitress. She went out of her way to make our 30th anniversary dinner a most memorable one. She spent a lot of time talking to us. The food is above average and expensive, but the rent that the restaurant must have to pay here must be ferocious, so I understand. We had a $9 bottle of water and 2 entrees. They gave us a free desert to split between us because of our anniversary. I think the bill was $110. If you have someone to impress, this is a good spot.

For a five star rating I would expect the food to be superlative, but while the food was good, even great, it wasn’t the best Italian food I have ever had. The view, the service – those are amazing. Very attentive servers wait on you and treat you like you are their only table. The view and atmosphere is why you come here. That is 100% five stars. But again, for this price I am expecting near perfection.

Additionally none of our dishes came with pasta on the side, something that isn’t really mentioned, so if you order the shrimp you get two shrimp, that’s it… the chicken parm, you get chicken on a bare plate. It’s the first time I have ever ordered chicken parmigiana without receiving pasta with it.

The Caesar Salad is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Lastly, I’ll mention the cake. The twenty layer cake. It is tall, it is photographable, it isn’t very tasty. It is a crunchy peanut butter forward dry cake. Shrug.

PS their pepper shaker was comically large, we made some jokes. It was almost the size of my daughter.

Restaurant is on the top floor of Marina Bay Sands right next to the famous pool. We were lucky enough to be able to reserve a private dining room which also had a private patio overlooking the bay. Not sure if we were so happy if we dined in the restaurant as it looked busy and noisy and not had the best views. Food is italian, everything we had was tasty and plentiful. The real standout were deserts which were all made for show. If you get a chance order their tiramisu and affogato. Given the location, quality and outstanding service I don’t think the restaurant was pricy, for Singapore standards.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary & it was one of the best decisions of my life. My wife/family were very happy with the surprise. Location is one of the best in the world and the food, hospitality & ambience was super awesome. Food was authentic Italian & served with lots of love. Thila was an amazing host & so does Prasad. My anniversary evening became immortal in our memories due to Lavo team. Kudos to them.
