Parking was a little difficult (typical of Pearl St.). I ended up a 4 min walk away near Duffy Roll and headed over.
Got inside and the vibe is reallllyyyy hipster with an air of pretentiousness (it is a “boutique” coffee shop on Pearl so that tracked).
All of the booths face the counter, so it was kind of like everyone there working was staring at me and listening while I ordered. A little awkward but ♀️.
Maybe seats about 10 individual people at tables for two, so if you’re meeting anyone I wouldn’t expect to fine great seating for more than 3 people.
The staff was pretty helpful and super sweet. Ordering made me feel more comfortable. The pastries looked great but I’m trying to be good with my diet so didn’t get one. I ended up ordering a matcha latte with almond milk (their almond milk is slightly sweetened but their matcha powder is not – I ordered it without added sweetener).
There was a little line in front of me (2-3 people?) I waited about 8-10 min for my carry-out order.
The matcha was DEFINITELY worth the wait! It was the perfect temperature (I got it hot), texture, and flavor.
I’ll definitely go again when I’m in the area next!
When I went around 10:00 a.m. on a weekday I found pretty easy parallel parking and then recently discovered there’s some parking the ally out back as well.
You do get a discount if you bring your own mug.
Some of the nicest people I’ve ever met work here. It’s always a joy to see them. I hope this café stays put for a long time.
Service was fast and welcoming. The space is modern but small. Seating is comfortable. The counter is right by the door and you may have to wait to get in if it’s very busy as it was this morning. Between the conversations and music, it was fairly loud, but not unpleasantly so. They do have password protected Wi-Fi available for guests with the password posted. There were a few people using devices.
I walked into the area because parking can be difficult here. There were no open spaces when I arrived.
Great place, highly recommend.
