I wish I could bring my Taiwanese “mom” here! Helena was a wonderful hostess, and she and I were the only ones there. She mixed up a tasty black tea with lychee flavour. I admit that I expected a different type of bubble tea than what I received, but it was delicious regardless. (Assi in North Wales, PA is what I’m used to, for anyone who knows it!) I’m newer to the beverage, really.
I seriously can’t wait to go back to Lavender Cafe to try more of their massive and very diverse menu. I never find places offering rice cake, so I’m hooked! They offer hot pot and vegetarian friendly dishes too, so there’s zero excuse to not come here to enjoy the food. Absolutely worth it!
Oh, and BE POLITE, don’t expect the few available staff to be able to do dine in whilst the phone is ringing on a busy weekend dinner rush, AND LEAVE A GOOD TIP!!! Seriously, don’t make it harder for awesome immigrant-run businesses. Support more good ones like this!

This is a hidden gem. Best lo mein in town and they use fresh ingredients. A go to lunch spot for sure!

This restaurant was always a special treat when we came to Morgantown it was something to look forward to. I am not sure if someone else owns it or what but our most recent visit will probably be our last. It was very dark when coming into the restaurant only 1 other table being used. We sat ourselves because no one came to seat us. We got our drinks right away
The soup we ordered was so salty we couldn’t eat it
We set it aside and then scallion pancakes they were good.I specifically ask my dish not be spicy. She repeated it back
When we our food, the sauce was so spicy it was actually red. My husband dish was 90% vegetables not much meat
The waitress did offer to make me a 2nd dish and brought it back very quickly. I took it home it wasn’t much better than the first
I am sad to say I doubt we will be back.

The menu is huge but there are some items which are unbelievable. Highly recommend the mala beef! If you can’t handle a lot of spice, try the pork & bamboo shoots. The server was kind and food was on time as well.

When my fiance and I went, we were excited as we had heard good things about this place. I ordered the general tso’s chicken and she got the eggplant. The chicken tasted heavily freezerburnt and the eggplant had dark spots like it was old. When we tried to tell the owners, they said that the food had never been in a freezer and refused to listen to us or even try to comp some of the meal, even though we only took one bite of our food each before trying to leave. Overall, very bad experience and we won’t be back.

Ordered shredded pork with peppers. The bowl was half empty!!! Also, it was 70% peppers and 30% pork. I’ve ordered this dish at many other restaurants and the never received that ratio. My wife and I ended up dumping most of our milk bubble tea down the drain. She hated hers immediately. I got to about halfway through mine. The seafood soup was good. The vegetarian dumplings were bland. By the way , dinner for two cost upwards of 60 dollars. If I am paying that much I expect decent quality food. I am very disappointed with the food.

I really enjoy this little hidden gem. I have only had the sushi and tea, but both were very good. The sushi was fresh, tasted good, and had a nice presentation. The tea is amazing. The hot royal milk tea is probably the best tea I have ever had. They serve the tea in cute little pots on cute little trays so it is also aesthetically pleasing. The staff is friendly.

Great food!! We had chow fun, spicy beef stew noodle soup, mapo tofu, shrimp and eggplant. Spring rolls and hot and sour soup were awesome! Such extensive menu, something for everyone. Very clean place. Excellent service.

Do not eat here. The walls are disgusting, and splattered with old sauce.. and the food was terrible. Both dishes were so bland, and the noodles were awful and tasted sour. I’m not sure how this place has such good reviews, we were shocked. No chance we will try again.
