A FOOD CONCEPT BY SOUTHERN GRIST BREWING COMPANY Southern Grist’s first restaurant concept! Andrew Coins, our Executive Chef, offers up an internationally inspired menu with seasonal changes and rotating locally sourced ingredients. The menu features a blend of four to five bar-centric snacks, a half dozen shareable apps and a few larger dishes, which we encourage all to be shared amongst the table.

I’m not entirely sure what happened here (on 2/22). The reviews and photos from here and the brewery are raving. I know they’re in the process of ownership transitioning so maybe that’s part of it? But… the chicken sandwich I ordered was horrible. A tiny woody hockey puck excuse of chicken on a hamburger bun for $14. No sides or anything included. Not prepared in the way I would expect even based on this exact restaurant’s previous pictures. And this is a city known for chicken so that’s even more insulting. I wanted to say something but they closed super early and I missed my chance. I really hope this was just an off night because this was incredibly bad.

My first time having a beer mosa and it was so good! I got the chicken sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. I took a bite of the patty melt and I also recommend that one! So happy with my experience here ☺️

Love love LOVE the food. Everyday items are fantastic, Brunch menu is on point. So happy to have another brewery in town with an elevated culinary program. You get what you pay for. Lauter is a MUST try if you’re in the neighborhood for great food and a unique dining experience at a brewery!

Nice space and the vibes are great. I regret ordering the hot chicken which was a few white meat strips without heat. It’s basically their version of fried chicken and it’s more of an appetizer portion. Good selection of tasty beers. Kids burger pleased the crowd and my wife enjoyed the caesar with burger patty on top.

This was our second visit, but first time trying the food, and it was absolutely incredible. Everything was fresh, clean, vibrant, and well-balanced. Best crab claws in Nashville, and the bao buns are the best in town. My wife said “I wish I could relive that experience” immediately after we finished all of the food.

Don’t sleep on the dry aged burger! Definitely one of the best burgers I’ve had in Nashville. Friendly staff, good beer, a parking lot, open and airy atmosphere – what more could you want ?! I will be back.

An East Nash hidden gem with awesome beer & service but the food is truly next level. Come for lunch, dinner or brunch on weekends, they truly don’t miss here.

I miss the old Southern Grist! The bar is cool and I think the restaurant is a cool concept (love the atmosphere!!) but the food was overpriced – the Korean beef ribs were like beef jerky (a small piece for like $20) and the wings were really oily. Maybe the menu will improve with time. Service and atmosphere were great.

A unique and amazing menu. I always try something new and never disappointed.
The crispy vinegar potatoes are a must with every visit though!
The dry aged burger is also my pregnant wife’s absolute favorite where some days she would ask first thing in the morning, “can we go to lauter for a burger today.”
