Located about a mile away from the main shopping district in Mt. Airy, Laurienzo’s Wood Fired Cafe is a place you don’t want to miss. It’s a great restaurant off of Main Street in old town Mount Airy that fits in perfect with the small town charm. When we walked into the restaurant it gave off a high class vibe with dark colors and nice lighting. There is a small bar area in the middle of the restaurant that serves cocktails and beer. I took my two kids on a Saturday for dinner and were seated immediately. Soon after, many people started coming in so I would recommend calling for reservations. There is also outdoor seating for when the weather permits outdoor dining. The service was great and the food exceeded my expectations as I was thinking it was mostly a pizza place. There are many options on the menu that all look great, and they have specials with unique choices that appear to change periodically. I ordered the carnivore pizza and have to say it was one of the best pizzas I have tasted. My daughter ordered the spinach and artichoke ravioli off of the specials menu and she really enjoyed it. My younger one had the spaghetti off of the kids menu. All of us were pleasantly impressed with the quality of the food and the atmosphere and will definitely come back. This is a great spot to take a date, bring your family, or anyone else looking for a great Italian restaurant in downtown Mt. Airy. I highly recommend stopping in. You won’t be disappointed.

Came here for dinner last night with friends. Plenty of room. I believe there are more tables upstairs but did not need to explore since it wasn’t overcrowded. The service was great as well as the food and drinks. Went with bunch of winos so they did some damage. A friend had the espresso martini so I gave it a try. It’s been about 30 years since I had some Kahlua Liqueur but that’s what it reminded me of. Great food, great atmosphere. Not much else to ask for when dining.
Looking at some of the older reviews from last year, most patrons did not like the Panera cafeteria style the restaurant implemented. Not sure if it was just the COVID accommodations adjustment at the time but everyone can be rest assured that the regular restaurant style table service is back.

My wife and I tried Laurienzo Brick Oven Cafe for lunch, while in Mt Airy walking the main street
The staff was very friendly and attentive. Cool atmosphere as well.
The food was very quick to come out, and delicious. We started with meatballs as an appitizer, the split a cheese pizza. Perfect lunch!
Definitely recommend

Love Laurienzos! Amazing pizza and pasta options. Nice atmosphere offering indoor and outdoor dining – plus a bonus party room upstairs for events! All the pizza toppings are great (although $2 to add basil to a pizza is a little nuts in my opinion) but the meatballs are out of this world. The shore shrimp is a great appetizer and the shrimp are always perfect. We miss the beef tip stroganoff and wish they would offer a wider drink/beer selection, but it’s not a deal breaker.
Update: the cheesy garlic bread is an entire effing pizza, they now offer the best crab cake I’ve ever had (I am from Maryland) with a jalapeño corn chowder deliciousness, aaand the short rib masala is the bomb.

Laurienzos has really declined over the years. The bruschetta appetizer is merely a sliced up tomato served in a cup with some bread. The fountain drinks are now served as warm bottles, with a cup, obviously no refills. The soups are overpriced and served in very small glasses. The pizzas are very thin. Toppings are $2 each and can add up very fast. I would give them a 3/10 for flavor. The service is mediocre at best. They are not very filling. The parking is extremely limited.

The Spinach Salad with chicken is one of my favorites. The Vidalia dressing is perfect.
If you’re a true crab cake fan, theirs are at the top of our list! All jumbo lump and authentic. The jalapeño creamed corn is a perfect pairing.
We also love many of the entrees and pizzas. Just tune into what flavors are calling you and pick one.

Nicely decorated on the inside. Didn’t have to wait at all during lunch on a Saturday. Amazing cocktails. We got the mahi mahi and the Cajun pasta, both so delicious. Portions were large enough for leftovers.

Laurienzo Brick Oven Cafe in Mt. Airy is a Fine Dining Hidden Gem, Hands down the best pizza in the area. Not to mention their mouth watering Entrees.

Waited on hold over 5 minutes to place a carryout order, 30 minutes later I received my Lobster ravioli. I was very excited for the meal. Unfortunately the Lobster ravioli ended up tasting like cat food ravioli. But luckily it came with 5 nice size shrimp which were edible.
At the end of the day what’s cat food ravioli without jumbo shrimp? Think I’ll keep driving next time!

Called in order and they told us it would be 25 minutes. We get there and end up waiting an hour plus. Two of the pizzas seemed like they were gluten free as they were different thickness and rubbery texture. One was burnt. Offered an alcholic beverage on a take out order. Overall unimpressed and food was inedible. Tossed the food out to the animals. You want good brick oven pizza I would suggest you drive further maybe Montgomery County.
