We got the corn beef hash and eggs, cinnamon roll pancakes, bacon egg and cheese sandwhich, and motz sticks. Everything was really good! Classic diner food! The corned beef was perfect right out of a can like i like it. The scrambled eggs were also good! Only thing is it was pretty expensive for pretty standard but good diner food

The staff is always so accommodating, and friendly- you feel like family when you’re here. Our waiter Kleanthis K. and the hostess made sure our 1 year old son had something entertaining, offered to bring kid friendly items and just went above and beyond in every sense. Not to mention the food is phenomenal, I got the gouldberg burger this time and the skirt steak the last time. Skirt steak is probably one of the best I’ve had (seriously don’t knock it until you try it). The burger was delicious with a side of sweet potato fries *chefs kiss*. Will def be back

Excellent diner. The vibe is perfect, interior is delightfully retro.
Food of course is good with huge portions.
Wait staff are great too, my coffee cup was never less than half full unless I said no thanks.
I was a solo diner in for breakfast and was lucky enough to have a brief conversation with a group of local ladies in for breakfast also. It sums up the feel of the diner. It felt like not just somewhere to grab food, but a meeting point for the community.

Dinned here during the snow storm with my partner.. everything was great until a baby roach crawled onto our table. We tried to kill him but he escaped. Will never be visiting this establishment again. They need to do a deep clean and eradicate all roaches in their restaurant. I didn’t want to disturb the rest of the patrons and ruin their experience. However, we would like a refund and to make sure roaches don’t continue to run free in this restaurant. Be weary..

The vibes and ambiance are very good here. Service was friendly and fast but a little too fast. My breakfast came out within 5 minutes of ordering and we felt very rushed to leave on a Sunday morning even tho we waited for our table fair and square. Food was average diner standards. I was upset to see on my check that adding blueberries to pancakes was an extra $4, which was outrageous. Overall a good spot.

Delicious food! Hardworking staff! Cool decor. We were seated fast on a very busy Sunday.
This is an excellent dining option in this area and was an outstanding way to start our morning. Tasty mimosa, generous amounts of coffee, and the tuna salad platter was fresh, so good, and huge!
Try it out!

In business since 1932, Laurel Diner is a classic diner in almost every sense. It’s spacious and boisterous with striped booths that exude retro charm. The menu is appreciably huge, boasting everything from breakfast to sandwiches to pastas and much, much, more. About the only thing here that doesn’t recall a bygone era is the pricing, which is high even by 21st-century Long Island standards.
Laurel does at least offer rather generous portions (plus free coleslaw and pickles), but the food is nothing special. I went with a pastrami Reuben and a side salad in place of fries. The sandwich satisfied a craving though the meat was a bit chewy. It feels almost blasphemous, but I can get a better version down in North Carolina for about half the $20-plus cost. To Laurel’s credit, the staff were at least attentive and accommodating.
For those who grew up with diners like this or simply want a lot of options to choose from, Laurel Diner holds a certain appeal. Remove nostalgia from the equation, however, and it offers neither particularly good food nor a good value.

Looked like a nice local diner. But the food was so and so. And the service was lacking. One persons meal came out way late. Kept forgetting toast that was supposed to come with the omelet. A nearby table almost got into it with the waitress because of a terrible attitude/response. I’ll have to give it a try some time in the future. Don’t recommend.

Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures but this place is phenomenal. I was born and raised in Long Beach and loved coming here. Now I live out of state but always make sure to come back every time I am in town. I highly recommend the French toast as it is cooked using fresh challah bread. If you enjoy chocolate like I do add Nutella to it. They also have the best egg creams in Long Beach. The service is very good and friendly. The portion sizes are good but the prices are a bit higher than other similar places. Regardless I will come back every time I am in town
