Located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Princeton. We were there for a surprise birthday party at the comedy club, A Rising Star within the Hotel. Food from Laurea was served during the show.

First and foremost, the staff was wonderful for our service. But when it came to the food my brothers and I were left with the impression the chef who curated the menu had dropped the ball. We all ordered pasta, all felt like they lacked flavor and soul from a bowl from a great Italian restaurant. The rigatoni was so far below the bar my brother couldn’t finish his meal, from the sauce to the sausage, it was lacking of flavor. While as harsh as my criticism is for the meal the staff kindly understand the situation and waived it off the bill. Im hoping the chef will take some time to review the menu and overall the pasta section. I would like a strong reason to return but with the current menu I feel like i will be disappointed again.

Stayed at the Hyatt, came down from breakfast. The breakfast buffet is the breakfast buffet, and the menu is the menu. No one came to attend to us after we got in, so we had to grab a few extra sets of utensils missing from our table ourselves and sat for a long time before someone asked if we were getting the buffet.
No mention of the breakfast menu (and no signage either), so it was only after the majority of the people at the table got their food did I realize that the waitress to the table next to us was taking orders for breakfast, so I asked her after she was done if I could order something. Yes, I did end up with an omelet that was a great start to my day, but I also ended up with a bill for both my omelet (over twenty dollars!) and also the buffet.
There were only four of us at the table, and this breakfast had a bill of almost a hundred dollars. Was the food good? Yeah. Was the resulting receipt horrifying? Yeah…
That being said, it’s pretty tasty food if you go by hotel standards.

We’ve been here twice now and had a great experience both times. The food is delicious (homemade pasta is a must) and reasonably priced for what you’re getting. My fiancé and I agreed Christine was hands down the best server we’ve ever had. She was so knowledgeable, personable and fantastic about his nut allergy. Can’t wait to come back!

Fresh Fresh FRESH!! The ingredients were fresh, as were the menu choices. The in house made pasta was delightful, as was the marriage of flavors and textures in each bite of the fettuccini bolognese! The pizza had nice thin crust too. Our server was a delight and extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the menu; and made great suggestions.
I’d definitely return and would suggest this restaurant to others.

Laurea is a hotel attached restaurant by standard. However, the quality far exceeds most standard in hotel restaurants. The food and ambiance could rival a standalone restaurant. Furthermore, the staff here is without question some of the friendliest I’ve come across. Our server, Erin, went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well fed. She was honest about her preferences and we followed them to an absolutely delightful breakfast. She came by frequently to ensure we were always able to request anything needed. We were here for two days and had her as our server both times, and both times we reviewed excellent service.

The food is extremely tasty, and has great presentation. The croissants are made in house and it shows. Flaky and light, a slight smear of butter and jam leaves you feeling like you are sitting in a Parisienne Cafe. The eggs fluffy and seasoned perfectly. And finally, don’t underestimate the pancakes, they are springy and light in flavor.

All in all, I would definitely return to eat again and look forward to it. Thank you again, Erin, for a great service. We’ll see you next time.

They had a valentines night special, but happened to be a buffet. Lots of choice, but food was below par. Not very tasty, not hot, quite ordinary frankly. Also, the restaurant is open to the atrium at the Hyatt Regency, so definitely not a romantic experience. probably fine for an ordinary evening dinner / drinks, especially for hotel guests.
One redeeming thing was the Service was good.

We did the Nee Years Eve menus and it was quite good. The lobster bisque was really good along with the Sea Bass entree. The filet was good as well , not great , but good.

Both desserts were really good and the service was outstanding..

First just want to say our waitress was very nice tonight for Valentine’s Day. No complaints about her whatsoever.

My main issue is what we were there for…the valentines buffet. That buffet was mediocre at best. I know our reservation was for 9pm but they had no oysters…which was on the menu and we were never told that there weren’t anymore.

Eggplant in the antipasti was so hard and bland. The cheese and meats were okay, not spectacular.

The hot foods…felt like eating something that was in a hot case at 7-11 or Wawa. Again, I know our reservation was at 9PM, but the food was so dry, especially the salmon. The pastas tasted so bland and were so dried up. The mashed potatoes literally only tasted like black pepper. Just honestly so disappointing.

The pizza was meh. The dough was not good and the flavor of the pizza was just not good. The prime rib was actually fine.

I think I’m just upset that this buffet cost me more per person than nice Vegas buffets I’ve been to. Their marketing team is really killing it because a lot of reviews were great, but they kept coming up on my social media after I looked them up once and I was convinced I wouldn’t be eating college dorm room food. Just so disappointed.

Also, the pianist left right at 9PM. If you’re promoting a valentines dinner and have live music, shouldn’t they be there for the whole dinner? Again, we are paying a pretty penny for dinner.

On 10/5/25 we booked the Laurea Restaurant at Hyatt Princeton NJ to mark a Birthday of our friend.
And our experience with the restaurant was below the expectations.
One of the guests who ordered the Icelanding Cod described it as non-eatable . Veal Scallopini was probably re-heated, not fresh. It was not tender but rather hard and the spinach was bitter. The only good part of this dish was the potato puree (for $35?).
After we complained the Maitre d’ took a couple of items off the bill.
Not to mention that the waiter managed to turn a cup of water on me and my pants got wet. They told us they were understaffed.
The appetizers were fresh and tasty and drinks from the bar were good. The interior looks nice.
Two stars at best.
