I visited The Laughing Crab Cajun Seafood on a Saturday afternoon and found the atmosphere quiet, as it wasn’t busy at all. Overall, this restaurant delivers huge portions of seafood, but they could use some refinement on their drinks and service.
The highlight of the visit was definitely the food, particularly the value proposition of the Feast for Two. At just over $100, this platter was enormous and more than enough for two people (it easily could feed three). The feast included:
• 2 lbs of Snow Crab
• 2 lbs of Shrimp
• 3 Corn on the cob
• 3 Potatoes
• 3 Eggs
The seafood itself was good, and the portions were fantastic. The seasoning was “okay,” meaning while it got the job done, it didn’t quite hit the high notes of truly exceptional Cajun flavor. If you’re looking for sheer volume of seafood, this is the place to go.
Service and Drinks Miss the Mark
Unfortunately, the experience was held back by the supporting elements. Our server was somewhat attentive—not bad, but not actively checking in on us either.
The biggest disappointment, however, were the drinks. I ordered a margarita and strongly recommend avoiding them. It tasted overwhelmingly like syrupy mixer with little balance, definitely not a freshly made cocktail.
In summary, come to The Laughing Crab for a mountain of good seafood, but stick to bottled beverages and manage your expectations for the service.

I called to place an order over the phone around 9pm last night, the lady who was taking my order was so confusing and it was a very hard situation. I told her I was looking at the Menu while ordering what I wanted, made it VERY clear and simple for her, somehow still managed to get my order completely wrong. I told her the get your hands dirty with shrimp ONLY, cajun and hot spicy level as well as a side of clams. She then proceeds to ask if a combo #1 or #2… I said NO COMBO because I DON’T want ANY crab just SHRIMP. She made it very complicated on her side and I asked nicely if she could repeat my order to me, I listened closely as I hear her say CRAB in my order… again I told her I DID NOT WANT ANY CRAB, and repeated my order to her again she confirms with me my total and in those 15 minutes I sent my husband to pick up the order and guess what? it is completely wrong! not very much seasoned only about 6 sausages, 1 small potato, shrimp and CRAB

I’ve lived in Midland and San Antonio, but this place has the BEST seafood boils. My husband and I love going for lunch. We love to get the lunch combo, where you can get 2 half lbs of whatever meat, and it comes with corn, sausage and potato. Service is good and quick. The waiters aren’t always bothering every couple of minutes, you really get to enjoy your meal. The seafood boils are always very consistent.
The picture I posted was like $19.

I came to this restaurant and was surprised on how well it was. The staff were really patient and kind. The food there was even better than expected. I recommend ordering the combo F. It included a delicious fresh seafood boil paired with a garlic butter that elevates the food even more. I would definitely come back again

Went here on Saturday night, Valentines Day, got in with my wait time. The food and atmosphere was good, looks like they have karaoke songs nights (they had a nice karaoke machine). Catfish was good had a little kick to it but not to much. My wife was not a big fan of the tarter sauce she said it was to strong.

Went in at 830pm Feb 8th 2026 ordered 3lbs of crawfish.. 12.00 a pound. I NEVER ever had terrible crawfish. THIS WAS THE WORST IVE EVER HAD. The garlic butter had a great flavor but you have a mushy crawfish or a tough dried out crawfish, so terrible and the bottom of the bag looks like butter sauce and it was WATER!! Frozen corn being recooked has a mushy texture the sausage had no color left and so soft. The crawfish we were served was once cooked then frozen until they chose to sell it and recooked it. I’m so disappointed that a restaurant would have the audacity to do this.. I give credit when credit is do, I don’t put a company down but this is unacceptable to take 68.00 from us after all we ordered and to be served old crawfish. Disappointing, disgusting and the nerve. Do better. Only nice thing to say is the waitress was lovely! We ordered take out, we went and ordered to go it was fast and easy but coming all the way home still steaming hot only to have crumbled mushy crawfish or dried and tough crawfish.

Our visit started off rocky. We ordered the fried pickles and calamari. The pickles were a little too breaded but the calamari was alarming. It was overcooked and brown all the way through and especially chewy. I was worried about the rest of the food we ordered. I ended up getting the make your own combo with two different crab legs. That part was actually okay. The Cajun spice was very good. Overall, it was okay. I would recommend to management that you either take the calamari off the menu or make sure it’s cooked right. I’m not sure if it’s a product or cooking issue. Just something to consider!

Best crab boil I’ve had in a while. Snow Crab clusters were larger than expected. Very good sweet flavor. Shrimp were cooked perfectly. Spices awesome. Fried pickles amazing. Excellent service. I will be back.

I came in with my wife last night and I did not like what I saw. The waitress and the manager (I’m assuming) seemed to have had a disagreement. The manager snatched the paper out of the waitress hand and yelled “stop” in front of everyone which made me and my wife both very uncomfortable. I don’t know how I feel about giving my money to a place that treats their employees like that. The food is good but not good enough to see that type of treatment. Will not be returning.
