I don’t remember her name but she was the best waitress I’ve ever had there. The food was pretty good, and as always, the portions were very large on the lunch special. You definitely do not leave hungry. The pineapple upside-down cake is always a winner.

We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for some time, but we’re rarely in this area. However, tonight it seems the stars finally aligned, as we were passing through, were hungry, they were open, not too busy…it was all very serendipitous. Since it was about an hour before closing time, we looked at the menu online, stopped in, and just grabbed something to go. We both ordered a cup of vegetable beef soup and an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. The FGT were made to order, so they were hot and fresh with a nice light, crisp breading. We asked that the Crawfish Julie sauce be placed on the side, and they were quite generous with that element. The soup was a tomato-base…decent, but, honestly….rather unremarkable, but certainly nothing to complain about. The downside being that we both agreed the food was more than a bit bland. But, to be fair, this could be a conscious dietary/health decision to appeal to more patrons, since both are easily spiced to one’s taste. Bottom line: for almost $30, it was not spectacular, but we do consider it worth returning one day to explore other menu options. And……earning some extra shine on those stars – I had just cut my leg, and the staff was kind enough to provide me with a band-aid upon request. I appreciated that, so I’d like to say thanks so much to Lau Tori’s ownership and staff!!!

My wife and I visited family in Sumrall, and we went to eat at this establishment. We were promptly seated and our wants and needs tended to immediately. The fried mushrooms are outstanding, and the entrees were delicious as well. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and the vegetables on it were cooked to perfection! The meat was savory as well. My wife had the fried catfish, and it was great as well. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through, or anyone that wants a nice, quiet atmosphere.

I believe this is the best restaurant in the pine belt. The quality is unmatched. Every thing on the menu is good. The chicken and dumplings are amazing. The salads are great and they have homemade dressing. The burgers are unmatched. The chicken and more dish is fantastic. Wonderful desserts. The atmosphere is calming and lovely. The staff and owner work so hard to make this food so consistent. Gotta try it!

Our favorite place ❤️ Haven’t tried everything on the menu but everything I’ve ever ordered has been delicious. Always fresh food and home cooked. And the rolls are the best I’ve ever ever had in my life. The catfish both filet and whole are delicious can’t beat it. The chicken and dumplings are so yummy. The pineapple upside down cake is also warm and delicious and the bread pudding is delicious. My husband always gets the Lotta burger with extra chadder cheese he saids it’s the best burger around. My go to has always been the fried catfish, hamburger steak, or the Country fried steak with white gravy. Everything they have is delicious been going here for atleast 17 to 18 years now. And the owners are the best like family. Just love them. ❤️ Oh and the fresh garden salad is always crisp and delicious too. Always Fresh veggies. They are always pretty packed so please be patient if you have to wait a little I promise you it’s so worth the wait.

We visited twice on our 3 day bike ride. The food is excellent and the service is like a friend is welcoming you to their home. The fried chicken is incredible. Is this a Mississippi specialty or were we just lucky to eat in Sumerall. The catfish is also a must try.

ONE OF A KIND EXPERIENCE!!! It was my first time here and every single person made me feel so welcomed! They fed me some wonderful home made vegetable soup!!! Food was hot and drinks were cold! Hahah!!! I can’t wait to come back and try something new! thank you guys!!

So this is an updated visit to Lau Tori’s on 12/13/24 for a take out lunch. My wife was visiting on holiday. She ordered two shrimp po boys, fries, onion rings and a side salad for family and she. Unfortunately, the shrimp were not properly peeled making the sandwiches inedible. The fries were okay but the onion rings were good. She said that was the only thing that prevented them from the “missed-meal colic” ….lol. Chewing on the shrimp peels made her sick and ruined the meal she stated. How hard is it to ensure you actually peel the shrimp before battering and deep fry. Apparently too difficult. Insult to injury….they appeared to not even be busy…. Ordered and picked up around 11 – 1115 CT. Anyway, very dissapointed. We will not be returning and we truly regret this outcome. We always want to support and provide amply opportunities to review and address deficiencies. Lunch goers beware…Friday the 13th. Lol

We really love to eat there but, the last few times we’ve been service has been slow and there were only 3 tables with guest. There are people in and out of the kitchen area that are not working at that time. The last time we were there, some young boy sat on the counter where tea and all us located. That isn’t sanitary at all. Then the servers were back talking and we had to wait until we could get someone’s attention to get our bill. I know and dearly love the owners but I had to write this.
