I’ve been going to this restaurant since the week they first opened years ago and this place is consistently perfect! The service is fast and friendly; I’m a regular from Northwest Philadelphia (Roxborough) and I always find that if I make a trip to Chinatown that it’s a MUST to visit. I usually start off with a Wonton Soup and a Peking Duck Roll; which is to die for! Then I usually get one of my favourite entrees which is Orange Beef (crispy fried beef tossed in a sauce so delicious and flavourful that you’ll get bites where you taste actual orange) or I’ll get Shrimp, Squid, Scallops with Chinese Five Spice which is always fresh and seasoned to perfection while still remaining light and not overbearing. Other favourites include their Singapore Mei Fun, Roasted Duck Congee which is a winter necessity, and their General Taos Chicken, but to be fair anything you get here will inevitably blow you socks off.

Stopped at Philly for three days, ordered our first meal at Lau Kee (柳記). We had steamed rice with duck 火鴨飯, wonton soup 淨雲吞, Shanghai noodle 上海粗炒, and steamed rice with bitter melon 苦瓜飯. The duck was very tasty and was not too salty like other places, the shrimps inside the wonton was firm and fresh; noodle was tender; I just loved the taste of bitter melon they cooked. On the next night, we ordered steamed rice with duck and BBQ pork 火鴨叉燒飯, steamed rice with tomato and beef 蕃茄牛肉飯. The steamed rice was cooked just right, firm and fluffy. It was such joy eating these dishes.

Go to place for Cantonese roast meat. Noodle soup portion is small. Roast meat on rice portion is also getting smaller. But stick with the roast meat can’t go wrong.

Visited here with The Missus (bless ‘er) and The Kid when we couldn’t get into our usual spot (sorry, but true). We were quite pleased with the quality of the food. Everything came in a timely fashion and was hot. Service was as efficient and as pleasant as one could hope for.

Quick and great service all around, plus two hot and ready meals. The Singapore Noodles and Shrimp were perfect, as well as the Chicken and Fresh Mushrooms and White Rice. Enjoyed every morsel of it. Even the tea was great. Will be back soon

Finding a place that does roast duck better than Lau Kee is quite the challenge – perfectly balanced flavors and orders ready in 5 minutes.

A delayed flight from Philly left me wandering around and I walked by this place. I’ve never had duck before so i decided to go into the place with them hanging in the window. I got peking duck and let me tell ya. It was amazing. It came warm with crispy skin and tender meat. The next time im eating some chicken im gonna wish it was water chicken instead

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at this establishment After some delicious Chinese tea we started with steamed and fried dumplings, both were on point and deliciously satisfying the duck ramen soup had an incredibly flavorful broth, so good, however the peking duck was the star of the show! It was so deeply seasoned every bite was a burst of flavor I didn’t get any pictures as I was taking a video for my daughter’s YouTube. Check out Heavenly Food Reviews video on Chinatown of your interested in watching our experience
