Second, The food was quite good. I tried the Hellfire shrimp, the shrimp salad, and the barramundi. The barramundi was spectacular. For me the shrimp salad was among the best I’ve had in Harford county.
I must be honest, I did not particularly enjoy the garlic whipped potatoes. I felt they tasted just a bit ‘off’. Not spoiled, just not quite…. right.
Last, this evening’s hostess seemed preoccupied. We arrived around 535pm, so before the heavy rush, but it was a bit busy when we arrived. Perhaps she could have had a busy afternoon and we caught her at a bad time.
4 stars for atmosphere because it was really loud in there. No problem, but for those with loved ones who are hard of hearing, you gotta try this place during slower times or they’ll have a tough time hearing.
TLDR: Food was really tasty overall. Service was mostly outstanding. Absolutely will return and will try the barramundi again, next time with lemon butter. Thanks to the staff for a great evening!
Our visit started off a bit rough—we weren’t greeted when we first walked in, and it took a while before anyone acknowledged us. That said, things turned around quickly once we were seated. Kristen C. was our server, and she was fantastic. She gave helpful recommendations, our food came out on time, and everything tasted amazing. Despite the slow start, the service and food more than made up for it. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I recommend giving this place a try!
Our table was another frustration. It wasn’t a simple wobble fixed by a shim—the problem was structural. A restaurant at this level should not seat guests at defective tables. Again, this is an ownership issue, not something floor staff can “manage” away.
Service, however, was a clear bright spot. The manager, Kevin, was outstanding—consistently smiling, genuinely attentive, and receptive to feedback. His presence elevated the experience and set the right tone for hospitality.
The food was outstanding as well. The Jumbo Scallops with grilled asparagus and steamed broccoli were unequivocally excellent—perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and memorable.
Bottom line: the noise and table quality are serious, inexcusable detractors that ownership must fix. Yet the superb scallops and Kevin’s exemplary service were strong enough that, despite my disappointment with the environment, the positives ultimately outweigh the negatives—and I do intend to return, hoping the fundamentals get the attention they deserve.
While waiting, the manager was walking around offering guests samples of hush puppies or shrimp, which I thought was a really nice gesture. When she approached me, she asked if I had been helped. I told her yes, that I was just waiting for a seat. She then walked past me and offered samples to the next person waiting, but not to me.
It may have been unintentional, but it felt uncomfortable and unexpected, especially as someone new to the area. Because of the interaction, I decided to leave rather than stay for dinner.
I’ve had good experiences with Latitude in the past, so I hope this feedback is helpful in ensuring all guests feel equally welcomed.stopped by for dinner as a party of one on a Friday night. The wait time was about 30 minutes, which I didn’t mind because I’ve always enjoyed Latitude when visiting Richmond, VA.
