I don’t eat out often. But while waiting for a friend, I was parked outside mambo Latin restaurant in Steelton and I saw they had a Cuban sandwich which I love!! I wasn’t prepared for the bread that day-because it is inflammatory(I have to reduce inflammatory foods because of my disease ) so I stuck with the baked chicken leg and rice combo with some sweet and green plantain. Let me tell you, if you love to cook or love home cooked or love Dominican food, you will absolutely love this place! Today is three days later and I am getting the Cuban sandwich. Their yellow rice I was allowed to try. It is exceptional flavorful light, and fluffy! They have mashed green plantain, and I looked up the properties of green plantain because I should not eat potato or fries because of their high inflammatory nature. Guess what? Green plantain has flavonoids, and compounds that make it anti-inflammatory! What a bonus and so delicious!
This place gets five stars the service the atmosphere – the people here are wonderful! Ann and Suny are down to earth -Customer Service number one-real people that treat their customers the same way as they treat their food. With love- you can tell there is love in everything they do here from the food which is amazing, and the service! Naples za in Steelton ( awesome ) used to be a staple for me, but flower/bread is inflammatory. I will still indulge there once in a while however, Mambo Latin Restaurant is my new go to in Steelton!And when I say go to, I mean every time I’m in or near Steelton I will go to Latin Mambo Restaurant! It is seriously that good!

My coworkers and I placed a big order today 6/27 and everything was fantastic! Sandwiches were huge, lots of soft rice, mangu was flavorful and not dry. Pernil was tender and the chicharon was crispy and not burnt. We will be ordering again soon.
