I ordered a JUGOS NATURALES/NATURAL JUICES- passion fruit juice to start. It was very tasty but VERY sweet, so if you’re ok with sugar, you’ll love it!
Someone at the table ordered a YUENGLING beer as well. It was cold and as expected (which is good).
Two of us ordered pasteles- there were only two left!! (We felt lucky) . One of them was cooked well- firm and tasty, the other… not so much. Mushy and bland, according to my PR grandmother… I know it’s a whole process to make them, and they were down to the last two, so we’ll have to assume they’re normally as good as the firm and tasty one we got.
I ordered the Mofongo/shrimp with maduros and salad, which was pretty tasty, but I’m a pescatarian- for health reasons I have an issue with meat, especially pork. For whatever reason I didn’t ask, and incorrectly assumed that the regular mofongo would not contain pork, but it does, which I found out after one bite, so I gave my mofongo away, but my family didn’t like it.
One of us ordered the grilled chicken stuffed mofongo but didn’t really love it- it was very dry. The server was very nice and brought some sauce on the side, which greatly improved the dish. Hooray Mariam! (For real, she was the best part of our visit ).
Since I gave away the part of my meal that I expected to fill my up, I was still hungry and ordered a piece of the tres leches cake and it MADE MY EVERY DREAM COME TRUE!!
✨ It was seriously delicious!
Overall, I’d say this isn’t the place for vegetarians or pescatarians, or for picky eaters, but the atmosphere and service are top notch! If you like Latin food, I’d recommend it, but maybe come earlier in the day.
I understand it is difficult to have staff at times but when you are going to have a business and this is a nice location you need to make sure you have a bell or something that alerts you to when customers walk in to at least tell them I’ll be right with you. We ended up going to the Italian restaurant next door and had excellent customer service and good food.
You’ve been blessed with a good location I will definitely invest into having a little bit better customer service and maybe a little doorbell to help you know when someone walks in.
Latin flavor at its finest! The service was professional, fast, and the environment was clean and welcoming. La morcilla y el trigo estaban riquísimos — truly authentic Puerto Rican flavors that made me feel like I was back on the island.
Mariana was amazing! I loved her energy, and you can tell she knows authentic Puerto Rican cuisine very well. The restaurant has a great location, perfect whether you want to enjoy a full meal or just relax with a cocktail and an appetizer. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a bar. Parking is easily accessible and spacious, which is always a bonus.
Highly recommended if you’re craving true Puerto Rican food with great vibes! ✨
