Our meal featured a delicious spread of starters, including fried chicken, tofu, and flavorful rolls, each dish prepared with care and authenticity. The highlight of dinner was the red Thai curry—rich, balanced, and truly satisfying. To accompany the meal, signature cocktails like the jasmine-infused creation are a must-try, elevating the dining experience to another level.
Lat14 comes highly recommended for its creative menu, impeccable service, and vibrant atmosphere. If you’re planning a corporate dinner or a large group gathering, this restaurant should definitely be on your list.
22$ for fried squash, barely any curry and few lentil papads seems crazy.
Service was okay, even though it was not so busy.
Upon entrance the atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant with attentive service and staff.
We started with the Basil Wings, they had a delicious crispy exterior and were soft and tender inside paired with fried jalapenos and a hint of lime, definitely a highlight of the night! We also tried the Snow Crab Wontons, which did not disappoint, they were tasty and served with the Apricot Sweet Chili sauce that added a fruity sweetness that tied it all together.
To follow, we went with the Khao Soi Chiang Mai, served in a generous bowl, it was a dish that was enjoyable and had a little kick to it! The Chicken Adobo Fried rice was flavorful, served with a sunny side up egg and soy vinegar braised bone-in chicken, all very tender.
Throughout our stay we tried a few different cocktails, the Jasmine 45, by simply looking around we noticed how popular it was and I would totally recommend it, it was bubbly, sweet, and refreshing! The Mango Mojito was very good, it reminded us of a mango soda rather than a mojito. The Lat 14 Old Fashioned was perfect for slowly sipping throughout the night. Lastly, the Espresso Martini, made with a mix, we usually prefer them on the stronger side, this one was very light and smooth.
To end the night off we tried the Luq’s Scoop for dessert, it was a delicious toasted coconut ice cream served with caramelized pineapple, toasted coconut flakes, and toasted almonds. It was creamy and sweet, the perfect way to wrap up our stay!
Overall, we had a great time trying out Lat 14, we enjoyed their take on classic dishes and drinks and would totally recommend it to anyone looking to branch out and try some diverse Asian cuisine.
I visited on a Friday afternoon between 4 pm and 5 pm, right after work, and the restaurant was pretty quiet, with only about six other guests. Unfortunately, one downside was that the food took quite a while to come out, despite the relatively empty dining room. We had to wait 20-25 minutes for appetizers and another 20-25 minutes for the main courses. In the end, we spent more time waiting than eating.
Basil Wings 9/10: This was definitely the highlight of the meal. The wings were crispy, juicy, and the dry rub was perfectly balanced and definitely addictive.
Nam Khao (6/10): The presentation was beautiful, and I appreciated that the lettuce wraps and herbs were served at room temperature rather than cold. The flavors were all there, with a nice balance of sour from the lime juice and nuttiness from the rice powder and peanuts. However, the dish was too salty for my taste. I enjoy salty food, but this was a bit much, and after a few bites, it became hard to keep going.
Tom Yum Ramen (5/10): While the presentation was great, the dish was too sour for my liking. The pickled mushrooms were so intense that i had to let out a cough lol. The shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly, and the ramen had a nice texture. Still, the sourness made it hard to enjoy overall, and we didn’t finish half the dish.
Drunken Noodles (5/10): This dish also had lovely presentation and all the flavors were there but unfortunately, the noodles weren’t cooked thoroughly. Which made them rubbery, not for my liking.
Khao Soi Chiang Mai (2/10): This was probably my biggest disappointment. The presentation was on point, but I was expecting a more traditional Thai or Lao-style curry. Instead, what I got tasted like an Indian curry, with an overwhelming cumin flavor. It was so potent that it dominated the dish, and I ended up leaving most of it untouched.
Overall Rating: 4/10
Most of the dishes didn’t meet my expectations. They were either too salty, too sour, or the flavor balance wasn’t right. I feel the flavors were much exaggerated in an attempt to be somewhat a trendy take on southeast Asian cuisine.
