So I previously went here last year (2025) and thought 5 out of 6 items were home runs. Shortly after they announced the sale of the business to June coffee and I immediately said “there goes that bakery”.

I decided to give them a chance and not assume they would fall off just because the owners changed.

So here it is Feb 1st 2026 and I drive from Atlanta to give them said deserved chance. Well they didn’t prove me wrong.

The breakfast ? Cookie was dry and tasted burnt, the oat bar was super bland and all you got was the tartness from the jam. But some how zero sweetness from the crumble. I don’t like overly sweet but how you can make a crumble which is made from sugar not sweet and off putting it’s magical.
Also go the raspberry danish situation which was also missing anything besides the tartness of the jam.

The lemon tart dough was extremely undercooked and boardline raw. So again another miss.

Everything missed the mark this time. Complete 180 from last year. I wanted so deeply to be proven wrong and to enjoy amazing treats but sadly that didn’t happen.

The berry Danish is absolutely fantastic! I’m pretty sure the rice krispy has peanut butter in it. If so, allergic people be aware. The service was very quick, and the person that cashed me out (has an industrial piercing) was very friendly and actually paid attentive rather than having the usual blank customer service face.

Today was my first visit — and definitely not my last. I’m still dreaming about that gochujang twist and the ham & cheese croissant… but honestly, everything I tried was incredible. Pro tip: get there early! They opened at 8, and by 8:10 the line was already long. We waited about an hour, but it was absolutely worth every minute.

Really sad that the owner is going to be selling this place. I hope everything stays the same. This place, definitely lives up to the hype. I was really taking it back at how complex the flavors were some of the bakery items look unassuming, but after taking a bite, I was just really in heaven.

Exquisite baked goods served by wonderful staff. Get there early or order ahead, because they take a sustainable approach to their preparation and creation – when it’s gone, it’s gone and that’s it for the day.

We tried the breakfast cookie, ham and cheese croissant, Korean spiced twist and the lemon twist. All absolutely delicious, so whether you want sweet or savoury, this place has something tasty for you.

Last Call also supply coffee shops across Birmingham, so you may have already enjoyed their goods without even knowing.

Recommended and a firm favourite.

Last Call Baking Company is a very authentic and quality experience when it comes to baked goods that are cooked with love. A flakey and flavorful Chocolate Croissant, and divine and hearty Chocolate Cinnamon Roll, and a classic yet elevated Cookie. Going there to get bulk baking goods is gonna cost a pretty penny, but it’s money well spent if you’re one who enjoys good quality food. The people inside are kind and very involved, you can tell they enjoy their work and it shows in their food. Definitely a good place to visit if you haven’t.

Nestled in the heart of our community, this Japanese-French bakery is a hidden gem that deserves to be celebrated. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked pastries and the warm, welcoming smiles of the staff. The bakery exudes a charming blend of minimalist Japanese aesthetics with a touch of French elegance, making it a perfect spot to savor some of the most beautiful and delicious treats you’ll ever experience.

The true magic of this bakery lies in its masterful fusion of Japanese precision and French artistry. Every cake and pastry is a work of art, meticulously crafted with an eye for detail that is nothing short of extraordinary. The cakes are light, airy, and bursting with unique flavors that perfectly balance sweetness and subtlety. One bite and you’ll be transported to a world of culinary bliss.

Their cake is a revelation, with layers of delicate sponge, creamy ganache, and a hint of almond that dances on your palate. The yuzu tart is another standout, offering a perfect marriage of tangy citrus and buttery crust, topped with a glossy finish that catches the eye. And don’t even get me started on their croissants — they are a marvel of flaky, buttery perfection, with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and a soft, pillowy interior.

What sets this bakery apart is not just the exquisite quality of their products but also the genuine passion that goes into every creation. The owners are clearly dedicated to their craft, using only the finest ingredients and traditional techniques passed down through generations. This commitment to excellence is evident in every bite.

The customer service is just as impressive as the pastries themselves. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always eager to help you find the perfect treat for any occasion. Whether you’re stopping by June for a quick coffee and Last Call for croissant in the morning or ordering a custom cake for a special event, you can expect to be treated like family.

In a world where mass-produced goods often dominate, this locally owned bakery is a refreshing reminder of the beauty and joy that comes from handmade, artisanal craftsmanship. It’s a place where tradition meets innovation, and where every visit feels like a special occasion.

If you haven’t yet experienced the wonders of this Japanese-French bakery, do yourself a favor and make it a priority. It’s more than just a bakery; it’s a celebration of flavor, culture, and community. A true treasure that we’re lucky to have right here in our own backyard.

I’ve only experienced Last Call Bakery through June Coffee next door, but every time we do—it’s a win. They always have updated, seasonal pastries that are so good. My whole family still talks about them from all the way in Mississippi. Definitely worth a stop. You won’t regret it.

Magical baked goods✨ I have been following long before they had their own space and Chanah has always surprised and delighted her audience with her creations. Following her heart and letting the ingredients speak to her has always been the vibe. I was so happy to see some of my favorite flavors crop up like black sesame, apricots, pistachios, miso butter, etc that so often escape a Southern pastry chef’s notice. They have a bit of a cult following now (in the best way) so I would recommend coming during the week to get a better selection unless you love the thrill of a line!
