We had another amazing meal at El Tepeyac / Lassen Steaks! The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were great, and the service was top-notch as always. Liz was our waitress and she’s always so friendly and attentive every time we come in. My husband had the Steak Ranchero, and I went with the Chipotle Shrimp on Liz’s recommendation, both were so tasty! And don’t skip the homemade corn tortillas they’re a must!

Food is decent. Good steaks. Only reason I gave a 3 is because it has multiple menus and it’s not very clear and consise while trying to understand it. One menu with clear pricing and options would be nice.

Well, the food (ranchero shrimp) was good but they were not able to serve my order (fish tacos). Then, they didn’t have the rum soda.

This will be a strange review. I believe I have found my perfect taco. Without knowing what to expect, a picture of perfection came out on a plate.
A crispy fried corn tortilla shell shaped into a U. Enough room at the bottom for a generous portion of meat. Lots a space for lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese. The shredded beef was delicious. The produce was crisp. The salsa was ever so sweet and tangy. PERFECTION.

You must come here! After a very long drive, I came here for dinner. They have steaks, but I went with a combination plate of Mexican food. I had a tamale, chili relleno, and chicken taco. Amazing!!! I also had a wonderful margarita. Julie served me. She did a wonderful job and made my drink as well.

I stayed at the adjacent Wyndham hotel for one night as I was passing through town the day before Thanksgiving and needed to get dinner so I stopped in to order food to take back to my room. I figured the carne asada plate would work since they serve Mexican food and steaks and when I opened the Styrofoam box in my room I instantly regretted it. Everything was canned and reheated except for the steak which was pan fried and a rubbery texture that was impossible to eat. Three small flour tortillas were included but I probably had 2-3 bites total and tossed the rest in the trash. I hate leaving bad reviews, especially in a small town but hardly any effort went into this dinner. The last thing I want to say is the gal who was hostess didnt even ask if I wanted anything to drink while I waited.

Surprise birthday dinner for my love. They have limited choices but the portions are amazing. Their steaks are all aged and cut to order and cooked exactly how you want it!!!!! The owner opened up early for our reservations birthday dinner. You must try her homemade cheesecake yummmm.

Food is very good and my rib steak was grilled to perfection. The owner, Ester, was warm and welcoming and very friendly as was my server, Cassidy. The Steak House bar is gorgeous and well stocked. It is definitely a 5 star restaurant considering it is in a small town with only a few fine dining options to choose from. Money well spent. Enjoyed every yummy bite!
