We had dinner at Lash’s Seafood at Joe Wheeler lodge. I had the grilled shrimp and my wife had the fried catfish. Each of us had the salad bar. Everything was excellent. The challenge was the wait. Once seated, we waited about 15 minutes before our order was taken. This was not the fault of the waitress. It appears they were understaffed for a Friday night.

I wanted a light meal, so I ordered a bowl of seafood gumbo, and an appetizer order of hushpuppies. Both items were excellent.
The gumbo was exactly what gumbo should be. Rich, hearty, and flavorful. Spicy but not what you’d call hot. Just a nice wholesome dish.
The hushpuppies were great. Crispy on the outside, cooked but not dried out on the inside. Bullseye!
Service was friendly and efficient. Rural Alabama is full of capable good hearted people, and this place is no exception.
Got a belly full of good food and a glass of iced tea for just over $20 including a 20% tip. Great value.

Friend recommended the restaurant for our 9 year anniversary. Our expectations were far exceeded. Very pleased with everything all around. Fresh hot food. Came in about 6pm close is 7pm had excellent service.

We drove past this place then turned around and ate dinner. WOW … This seafood is fresh either to buy per pound or they cook it for you to dine in. The prices are very competitive. The employees are very polite and seem like they all are family and care about there customers. The owner is a friendly fella and says that he loves his employees… He also said that they make most everything from scratch. Make sure to try the sauces… We plan to go back next week for gumbo!

The gator tail and catfish was so good. Never tried gator and this restaurant didn’t disappoint! Excellent health score too. Friendly staff and didn’t have to wait long. Will definitely eat here again.

I had an out of town guest and we chose to have dinner at Lash’s at the Lodge! Never have we had such amazing service! The food was delicious and served in a timely manner! It was very affordable not to mention the beautiful view! It was a win for me and my guest and we will be back!
