We stopped in for the NFL happy hour and it did not disappoint.
Drafts for $4 and great food specials. House wine was nice.
We got the LaScala fries, which are nicely cooked fries loaded with crab meat, bacon, long hot slices, and provolone sauce. The long hots were HOT and we left some of those on the plate but ate the rest.
We also had a Cesar salad that had a nice flavor of scallions in the background.
They had pizzas on the happy hour too. They looked great but we were so full we will wait for next time.
We got there right at kickoff and it was already full so get there a bit early. Lucky for us one of the bartenders told us someone was leaving at got us a seat at the bar. Plenty of screens – Eagles on the TVs in front of us and all the rest of the games around the bar.
Service was also great – fast service on all our food and the right amount of attention, I didn’t see them on their phones. Very friendly also.
We had a beautiful view of the ocean with few folks around. Our great server was a charm. We leisurely drank & ate some nice foods: Aperol Spritzers, Veggie Pannini, Pizzi with Prosciutto, Fig Jam, Basil, Mozzarella & Honey drizzle, finished with Cappuccinos.
The drinks were weak & could use more Aperol. The Panini was delicious. The Pizzi crust was made with “00” flour so it was very light & crispy. Excellent combination of flavors for a pastry-like treat. It was perfect sweet & salt without going overboard. Went & spoke to pizza maker to compliment him on it. The Cappuccinos were not good & left them after a few sips. No cocoa sprinkled on top of milk foam. The expresso was weak as water. Was it made from an airport vending machine? Idk.
We were ready to order Aperitifs. However, people began to fill in. The acoustics are so bad in the dining room that we couldn’t hear one another speak but could hear other table conversations.
We left.
This restaurant is clean. Staff is sharp & on top. Bathrooms are spotless with on-hands staff. Open pizza kitchen with very clean surfaces.
Staff sat our party of four 2 feet away from the door. Its 29 degrees out. Its freezing. Table cleared right before we sat down and some how everything covered in sand. Plates, table, chairs. Sand. Ordered maoza 2 boody marry and an OJ.
We ordered french fries 2 pizza and a salad. 3 drinks come out, fries then my OJ. mimosa looks like photo attached. I asked for salt and pepper for fries got it after fries are gone. They packed here but experince is pretty awful. Never coming back here again.
The food was just okay and felt overpriced for what it was. I had the angel hair pasta with crab. It was a big portion, but the flavor didn’t really stand out. In general, the quality didn’t match the prices. This place is definitely more about the atmosphere than the food, but for a group outing by the beach, it worked well.
This is a really nice place to plan a beach day around, with a nice bar and amenities.
Highly recommended, especially for anyone that doesn’t not want to do the typical boardwalk beach experience.
