When here the other day for a bahn mi, it was very tasty. A little sweet, but I devoured the whole thing. It came with grilled onions, which I absolutely loved. The bread had a nice crunch to it.

A true mom-and-pop spot that feels like a time capsule—walk in and it’s instant Chinatown, San Diego, circa the ’90s. The laminated, photo-forward booklet menu isn’t Instagram-polished, but that’s the charm. What you see is exactly what lands on the table.
We ordered the beef pho special, shaken beef (with broth on the side), tamarind wings, and a strawberry white soda.
The standout was the shaken beef with French bread—hands down. I built my own shaken-beef bánh mì, added my garlic chili oil for extra depth, and dipped it into the broth on the side. Absolute game-changer.
The strawberry soda tasted like fresh strawberry purée meets an Italian cream soda—light, nostalgic, and incredibly refreshing. Definitely recommend.

This hole-in-the wall is a real gem of a find! The exterior is nondescript, just another part of a strip mall, the windows display a typical neon “pho” soup bowl sign. The interior sports 2 flat screens at the front, the walls are adorned with photos of landscapes and, you guessed it! Koi The pho is exceptional, the broth is consistently tasty and complex. There are other offerings not usually found in run-of-the-mill pho shops: giant meatball in savory sauce served with a baguette ; shrimp egg rolls, and the enormous ribs that come with the special pho of the house! The only mark I can fault here is during rush hour, this place gets pretty busy. So get here early, else you’ll be queuing! Or worse, they’ll run out of soup ! Which reminds me of that Seinfeld episode: No soup for you!

Sometimes food is not just food, it’s the people here. It’s our first time here, we decided to give a try since they get rated so high. The owner is very welcoming, clean store, excellent customer service. We got the pho special and shaken beef plate, pho is normal and based on the price the portions are on the smaller side. The shaken beef is delicious to match with the banmi and spam. However I would say if you looking for a pho restaurant that to pay a bit higher but have the warm and welcoming atmosphere, you should definitely give a try. And if you want good shaken beef plate, also should definitely give a try.

I wanted to love this place soo bad because of the reviews. It looks like it’s a family working together. I was really hoping to give 5 stars. I cant. This is my 1st experience here and for the special beef pho only! The taste of the pho broth was yummy. However I got a very small amount of meat for a $17.99 house pho special with a rib. I didn’t get meatballs in my pho, I can count the amount of slices of meat & tendons I got on one hand. & the meat from the rib was so tough. If you’re in a rush, it is very slow. I’m not a confrontational person & hate complaining in restaurants. So because Unfortunately my first experience wasn’t great I just won’t return.

Sorry no photo but definitely had to leave a fantastic review for this lovely restaurant! The mother and daughter team who I assume own it are so sweet, attentive and create a very welcoming atmosphere! It’s a small team so even if we had to wait a little extra they were sure to let us know that the food is coming! My sister and I got the spring rolls and regular beef pho and both were very delicious! We enjoyed the large size of the spring rolls and the delicious peanut sauce. You can tell the team pours a lot of heart into everything they make and the customers because it seemed like there were a lot of regulars there on a Wednesday night

I just discovered LaSam Pho, and it instantly became my new favorite spot for pho . The food is absolutely delicious and made with high-quality ingredients, every bite was fresh and full of flavor. I tried a few dishes but my favorite was their bánh mì as well, and it was amazing: crispy bread, fresh veggies, and perfectly seasoned meat.
The service was just as great as the food. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for enjoying a warm bowl of pho.
On top of that, the prices are very fair for the quality you get. Honestly, it feels like a hidden gem, and I can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend it to anyone who loves Vietnamese food

I cannot say enough about the strength of this restaurant’s food and how personal the service feels. Moved to the area a year ago, eaten lots of places, this restaurant is by far my most regular visit. I eat here at least monthly, so I’m very happy with consistency. Front of house feels like going to see a cousin or aunt, casual and warm. Amazing chef in the kitchen (though I believe he’s on a sabbatical) delivering huge flavors for excellent value. Don’t feel discouraged in warmer months, because the menu beyond pho/soup items is fantastic.

This place was excellent. The pho is delicious with very fresh broth. They use top quality ingredients. Even their chili oil is house made and very hot. The spring rolls were very good too. The service was great! Our server was very attentive and very friendly. The dining room is very nicely decorated. Overall it’s the perfect family owned pho place if you’re looking for high quality home on the wall experience. 10/10! I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in town.
