Went through the drive-thru. I ordered 3 different tacos (as seen in the picture of the receipt) and got a mixed up order. Not the end of the world but a bit disappointing. I paid with a $10 and got a nickel for my change. Decided not to complain over 7 cents but….come on! Basic math

Great service and great food! Staff was very friendly and our waiter made sure we had every we needed. Not only that, but we came in during a non busy time and our food was brought quickly. It was freaking delicious. I had the cheese enchiladas with rice and refried beans and tortillas. We also had the queso brisket dip and it was delicious.

Not being local this place qas recommended even by the Uber driver. Food was bland at best and I would not finish plate. Water was good but friend ordered Horcheta (sp) and she said it tasted like floor cleaner. Took 10min to get a manager and have that removed and pay the check. Would rather eat at Taco Bell than here again. I had enchiladas… how can a Mexican restaurant get that wrong?

Excellent Mexican restaurant. I ordered the barbacoa taco and the brisket taco—both were awesome. Great dessert selection, especially the chocolate ganache cake. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made excellent menu recommendations. Service was quick and professional. Highly recommended eating at the Hausmann location.

(I emailed the letter below to Las Palapas corporate ofc back in October, I never heard anything back from them.)
I live out of state, but return to San Antonio once a month, to check on elderly relatives. I always stop at this Palapas, (Hausman & 1604) the day before I go back home, to buy barbacoa to take to my son.
The last night I was in town (10/12/2024), I ordered my usual: four pounds of barbacoa (and a bean & cheese taco for my cousin) After placing my order and paying for it, I was instructed to pull forward and wait. There were three other cars waiting also. I waited about 20 minutes, and then my order arrived.
When I got back to my cousin’s house, I unpacked everything. I immediately noticed the barbacoa had been packaged in different containers (small styrofoam cup containers, instead of the small aluminum trays it’s usually in). Something told me to get a scale out and weigh it, which I did.
Not one of the four containers weighed what it should have, they were all LESS THAN 16oz. I paid for four pounds of barbacoa, but I did not receive four pounds. (I have attached photos for you) Also, as I was paying the cashier, he told me I would be receiving a $10 discount, because of my Palapas Reward Points. (I recently became a loyalty club member) That $10 was not discounted from my total, as you can see on the attached photo of my receipt.
I am now questioning every barbacoa purchase I’ve ever made at Palapas! How many other times have I paid for four pounds of barbacoa and not received it?! I buy barbacoa from you guys every month to take back with me. All this time I trusted that my order was being weighed before I received it. Last night ‘s purchase showed me it’s not.
Please talk to your staff and advise them to weigh the containers before giving them to customers. If a customer pays for something, they should receive it, ALL of it. I’m very disappointed and feel cheated. I paid for 4 pounds of barbacoa, and did not receive it.

Normally, things go smoothly here, but the last couple of visits have been odd. I waited about 20 minutes for a large red salsa (I went inside thinking it was a drive-thru mix-up). A few things were wrong with my order, so I politely asked for a quick refund since I was running late. It was a small issue that could’ve been handled easily, but staff made a big deal of it, called the manager, and after processing the refund, the manager told me not to call again — very unprofessional. It may have just been a busy or stressed morning staff, but it left a poor impression.

I love Las Palapas I go often until recently. My orders have been messed up several times always forgetting my cheese or beans which cost extra and don’t get . I usually get them passing by to go to work . I spoke to a manager which was no help unless I brought the tacos all the way back which is an inconvenience to me especially after buying 8 tacos . I said they need to accommodate me some other way he couldn’t I said I’d have to call corporate

Be sure to check your order BEFORE leaving the drive thru window. This is the 2nd time they habe given me the wrong order. They weren’t even that busy. Unfortunately I didn’t find out until I got to work so there was no way I would be able to take it back. I tried calling and couldn’t get anyone. I will not be going back to this place. Nor will this business be using them to cater our lunches anymore (I’m the one who decides who we order from.).
