My girlfriend and I stumbled across this fine Mexican Restaurant when we were actually walking on our way to a different eatery. We decided to investigate the pleasant smells and cool vibes this 3rd level restaurant was giving off. Needless to say, the moment we walked in we decided there was no better place to eat than Las Montañas.
We were beyond pleased with the service and food. Shubham R was our waiter and he was very kind and helpful and assisted us in navigating the menu and select the right meal. We shared the Steak Arrachera & Achiote Chicken Combo Fajitas. Our food and service were excellent, this place is a must stop and eat for anyone that passes through Aspen, CO. Thank you Shubham!

Las Montañas is an absolute must when you’re in Aspen. The atmosphere is vibrant and upscale without feeling pretentious, the service is top-tier, and every single dish we tried was packed with flavor. From the cocktails to the entrees, everything was beautifully presented and truly memorable. It’s the perfect spot for a fun night out or a special dinner. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing service. Everything is extremely high quality. I must say I tried the best happy hour I’ve ever try with the best tacos ever and great flavors and drinks too.
I even loved their music and restrooms.

Probably my favorite restaurant in aspen. It leans more casual than others, you can get seating when others have a 1hr+ wait.

The fajitas are top notch although expensive — our favorite was the steak one that has pineapple marinade. Also, the lobster quesadilla was world class

Great patio and nice happy hour. Drinks were good but small for price. Wonderfully made toastodo chips with delicious salsas. Very friendly staff.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Las Montañas. The food was delicious and very filling, we got served tortilla chips and salsa on the house twice and our server Charles was very accommodating with our dietary preferences.

The restaurant itself is nice and location is great since it’s in downtown Aspen. However, my order was wrong. It was our first time coming to this restaurant and we sat at the bar. Prices are a bit pricey, portions of the food are smaller for what you pay for. We initially ordered a beef fajita enchilada ($40) and received a tiny enchilada lol. When we received the bill, out bartender rang this up as a single enchilada ($11) instead of the entree. It wasn’t a big deal but wish there was more attention to detail… our bartender wasn’t attentive. We ended up going to another restaurant afterwards.

The food was very good but you will want to bring a headlamp and your own water to drink. The lights were turned so low that our party of eight literally could not see the food on our plates. We used the flashlights on our phones for each bite. About the water: the waiter showed up with two bottles of water, caps unscrewed, and began pouring only asking whether we wanted “still water” or carbonated. These bottles turned out to add $40 to our bill ($10 each). It was definitely a setup. They should have offered us tap water.

This is not your average Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is so cozy and intimate, and the service is always fantastic. We were so pleased to have JT as our server again! He was so welcoming and his energy and knowledge gave us another incredible experience. The food here is truly on another level, outstanding and the recommendations were perfect. We recommend Montañas to any friends who visit Aspen.

This place blew me away.

We got the green chile queso and the no.6 sizzling fajitas (steak and chicken)

The queso was smooth and rich, my girlfriend(the queso connoisseur) said it was her all time favorite

The fajitas were out of this world! The Proteins themselves were perfectly cooked and very juicy and flavorful. The steak could have stood alone and was one of the better steaks I’ve ever had. It’s almost like going to a steakhouse in the sense they cook a whole cut and slice it perfectly and plate it on the sizzling hot skillet. What took these fajitas to the next level was the delicious Mexican cheese they mixed with the veggies. Since they keep the fajitas on a flame and hot, the cheese slowly griddles and adds a whole new level of texture and flavor. Pair all of this with real homemade tortillas that take me back to Mexico, and you have some of the best fajitas in Colorado PERIOD.

What a lucky find i know for a fact I will stop in for fajitas every time I’m in aspen! Service was excellent as well! Thank you las montanas!!
