I was just passing through and stopped to get gas when I noticed signs saying no restaurant parking, which made me look around. That’s when I realized there was a small Mexican food spot tucked in there. I had no idea what to expect, but decided to pop in—and I’m so glad I did.
I ordered a sopes with lengua and it was SO good. And the salsa? Easily the best salsa I’ve had since moving to North Carolina. ️
The dining space is small, so I’d recommend ordering to go, but the menu has a great variety and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Definitely a place I’ll be going back to.

Las Meras Tortas is a solid spot in Huntersville. The space is small and can get busy at times, which may slow service a bit. However, the food is flavorful and worth the wait.

This is definitely a hole in the wall place. Next to a gas station. Food was good, my barbacoa torta lacked seasoning and was very flavorful. The flautas were of carne asada which was a first for us and they had cheese inside. Those had a little mote seasoning and tasted better. The alpastor tacos tasted nothing like alpastor and didn’t come with the traditional pineapple salsa topping. We were disappointed with those. My daughters loved their pupusas though. So all in all it’s alright food. Still not as authentic as we were used to but I’d go back. There are 4 tables only. So if you want to dine in you may be disappointed. It is a very busy place.

Come here for AN AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE!! The food is delicious and one of the VERY FEW MEXICAN RESTAURANTS I EAT AT!! Very accommodating staff, the food is so good and taste like real home cooked Mexican food!!! I can’t stress how wonderful it is, the vibes from the staff to other customers and there’s a gas station near by if you want snacks and to broaden the variety of drink options you have!! That being said order the Horchata bc why not & I ordered the Gordita which is shown below but the TORTA & Popusas as well as tamales are also spectacular!! Try the whole menu because here there’s something for everyone!! Necesitan ir a comer aquí la comida es auténtica y deliciosa !!!

This is a hidden gem that I’m so glad I found. The food is really good, from the tacos to the quesadillas & sopes. They definitely give you a lot for your money too. Serive is pretty quick also. They serve fries with a lot & that was unexpected at 1st, but I’m not complaining as their are actually pretty good and crispy! Their asada (steak) if the best! Well seasoned & sooooo flavorful!

Hand making tortillas right up front. Beyond great food! Elote and DeLingua tostadas were superb! This small place is extra delicious. Make sure to check them out if you are nearby.

Food is fantastic I always come back for the pupusas and tacos! Staff is very nice as well- a little small on the inside but the food and staff make it worth it!

It’s kind of hot in the building, but it’s because they got some good people in the back making some delicious food! I always get six tacos chicken, steak, and birria and they always are nice and kind to me and did I mention awesome food!

I’ve always told people to get food from meras tortas but that’s going to change after today. I ordered flautas and was stabbed in the cheek with a toothpick. It wasn’t holding the tortilla together and accidentally deep fried. It was embedded in the filling. I thought that was bad enough until I found a short black hair on another flauta. I’m taking the sign to just make my own food going forward.

We get tacos delivered often and they always hit the spot! They are authentic and well seasoned. I love the tortillas. Tacos come with fresh onion, cilantro, plenty of lime and hot sauces. Perfect for a quick tasty dinner.

Had an unfortunate experience today at las Meras tortas. We tried ordered delivery and the menu said the order included “three pieces” but this is a lie. It is almost $5 for a single taco. It’s disappointing to me that they raised their prices and are also falsely advertising. We paid almost $18 for two tacos to be delivered. The food is good, but not at that portion size.
