My wife and I were visiting grandparents here in August 2025 – they took us here, said it was one of their favorite spots in small town Independence. Iban (I don’t think I’m spelling that right) took our order, kept us happy and fed! The food was PHENOMENAL! Iban’s mom makes all the food, they run the restaurant together. It is SO HOMEY.
We had to come back unexpectedly in November 2025 for the funeral of my wife’s grandfather. On the day of the funeral, we thought we’d pick up an easy meal for our small group at the house. Iban was working again, he remembered our grandfather, was very kind & patient in helping us pick out some easy food to “cater” home. He even threw in a little something for our grandma cause he knew it was her favorite. Such a sweet family and such great food. Always recommend this spot ❤️

Super yummy! Drove through town and stopped based on reviews and was not disappointed! The lunch menu had big portions for a very good price. The fajitas were super good! Highly recommend!

I occasionally use in for their Taco Tuesday: street tacos $2.25 or 10 for $15. I asked my waiter, the son of the owner, which taco meat I should try & he suggested their chorizo as it’s homemade by his mother & it’s his favorite, so I did. It was as he described & now my favorite!

They are very accommodating with dietary needs. I won’t speak about gluten free foods.

The food and service are excellent! Good margaritas, too.

Great experience! Friendly service that is hard to find these days. Chips were hot, salsa was flavorful. The cheese dip also came hot and flavorful as well. We shared a tamale and Hawaiian chicken. Both were delicious! Again, so much distinct flavor–not standard Mexican fare. The salsa bar is great, too. Help yourself to a variety of salsa, sour cream, cheese, a corn salad that was excellent, and fresh cilantro, onions, and limes. All complimented our meals. The rice wasn’t my favorite but I liked the beans. They were getting quite busy as we were finishing our meal. Lots of close parking out back. We’ll definitely come again.

Food was good, servers were friendly, but barely paid any attention to us, which would be understandable, if there were more than 4 customers in the place at 7pm on a Saturday….
My girl used the restroom, there’s apparently a sign in there that says to not flush toilet paper and the sink has a hole in it with a bucket under it to catch water….
There’s 3 mexican places in town, probably won’t be for long at the rate this place is going..
