Great food, make sure you come hungry. Large portions and taste was awesome. The molcajete was delicious. We also had aguas frescos. The watermelon and cantaloupe flavored were our favorites. Friendly, helpful staff. Be sure to visit downtown Tucumcari NM for a memorable Mexican meal.

Stopped for night at local hotel on our way home. We googled places to eat and Las Chaparritas got our attention. Boy, are we glad we ate here. Service was spot on, place was clean and food delicious. It was served hot with lots of melted cheese! The flavors were rich and spicy. We wish we lived closer!

The food was delicious. I got the Enchiladas plate with green sauce and it had a kick. So if you’re not a fan of spicy, I wouldn’t recommend. But if you love spicy, go ahead and order it.

Very reasonably priced. Large parking area. If you’re on a trip, hungry, and need a minute to rearrange the vehicle/ people in the vehicle this is the perfect place to stop. Had a shredded beef burrito and the picture does not do it justice. Check out the menu online to save time.

Excellent food, of course! We got our order to go (Chile relleno plate, flautas plate, and a mess of asada tacos) but I was sorry to leave: the smell was amazing and it brought my mom (from CA) so much joy to be in a place with familiar smells and sounds. Highly recommend!

If you are driving I 40 through Tucumcari, detour to this taco truck. They’re awesome! The tortillas are really good, the al pastor was very tasty and tender, and the carne asada was really good. I always prefer pork, but the beef was surprisingly flavorful. That red/orange cremosa has a kick.
