Amazing and Appreciated! We came to LC thinking Chilaquiles but left with respect and inspiration for traditional fare and service. We came early as reviews indicate it can be busy. Four of us. The cafe de olla was perfect and we have been trying throughout the area. Jose was our waiter and inspired us to try an original dish (pics). The pan dulce was light and airy. Service perfect, food beyond perfect, and atmosphere relaxed. Thank you Las Chalupitas for making our last day in Mexico City the best morning yet!!!!!

Mole with character! Spicy, light and creamy. I had the vegetarian enchiladas with lightly grilled zucchini and carrot and ay ay ay what a good experience. The side rice sadly was a little dry, so it did not complement perfectly the enchiladas, but still, it was flavorful. The green salsa was fresh and tangy.

On a Monday evening the place was serene with a single very professional and dapper waiter. The place is quaint, modest, clean and airy.

Overall a lovely restaurant.

I stopped here on a random whim. I sat outside and ordered myself a late breakfast. The menu is digital and the service was good. I got the chalupitas mixto and some rice with an egg and plantain. I also had the coconut juice. Everything was very good I would definitely recommend eating here. It seems very close to the Main Street but it is calm enough on a regular mid morning day.

I ordered the chuihuajua dish and it was great, the cheese was very good and there was plenty of ham in the omelet, in addition to the beans on the side. I was surprised by the fruits, breads and tortillas that were included in the price. Everything was excellent. I would definitely return.

Delicious, home-style Mexican fare. This place has an old-school feel; great service and serves up all the traditional classics. The breakfast buffet is an absolute gem at a very reasonable price, as well as many of the other plates on offer here. This is the kind of place I will return to again and again! ❤️

I order 3 tacos, and pipián verde. The pipián was really good.

They also came by our table to offer conchas and other sweet pastries.

Service is great. I recommend giving this place a try.

Servers were unfriendly, little signs of life from them. The food was with minimal flavor and while I do not need huge plates of food, getting a plate with 6 chalupitas that didn’t even have 50g of meat across all 6 is absurd. The red and green sauces needed salt – I’m not a big salt eater, so that says a lot. I found a small bay leaf in the green sauce of one of the 3 with green sauce. And a piece of ? – looked like hair but was too coarse to be hair – bristle from a brush? When I paid, the person who brought the credit card terminal didn’t even greet me or ask how everything was. I almost didn’t leave a tip because when BOTH food & service are low, why reward for the 2 reasons to eat out? A big disappointment.

The chiles en nogada is a must ! The contrast in different textures and flavours can’t be beat ! The Yucatan pork tacos were bursting with flavour. We tried the mole but it was a bit too sweet for our liking. The staff were great, they also gave us tacos and cactus (nopales) salad on the house !

The reviews really got my hopes up to try Las Chalupitas. We were greeted and seated right away, the restaurant was rather empty around dinner time. They took our drink order right away but took forever for the drinks to come. Taking our food order also took time and there weren’t many people at the restaurant. The consome de pollo was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. The horchata I ordered was in a bottle and was not the best, felt more commercial than a homemade drink. Even though this place does give a vibe of a very homemade Mexican food, the drinks said otherwise. The enchiladas divorciadas were good though. The prices for this restaurant were a bit above, even for the area. Other than that, the service was okay, nothing special, and the restrooms had like it had better days. I would go somewhere else for better and cheaper Mexican food.

Food is good, chalupas are great. But why is nothing spicy? The salsas i think are made with no chile. The onions for the cochinita have no habanero. The tostadas de pata that usually have jalapenos. Nothing spicy here. “Si no pica, no sabe.” Nada supo.
