Back on March 29, 2022 I randomly stopped at the quaint Las Carnitas 2 Peruvian Restaurant in Kenner, Louisiana before catching my flight back to Chicago. Oh my … the food was delicious! I totally enjoyed their flavorful Tacos Mexicanos and Tamal de Pollo. With the tacos you get to choose beef, chicken, fish or a combination of the three options on corn or flour tortillas. For my dish I chose the 3 beef tacos on corn tortillas. The Tamal de Pollo was different than any tamale I’ve ever had. It was hearty and could have been a meal all by itself. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

The food is great but sadly they don’t have yuca. The prices are good for the huge portions you get. They also don’t have home made chicha which is another main item you would find in Peru.

I was craving for Peruvian food and found this wonderful restaurant. We were greeted by the friendly owner and had a good time and will come back. I recommend the causa and ceviche. I wish they have buñuelos but maybe next time.
