Larkin’s is real Southern, home-style cooking at its best. I ordered the fried catfish today and it was crispy and FRESH. They didn’t drop it in the grease until I placed my order— just how I like it.
The staff is so friendly and welcoming. I watched them treat every single person who walked through the door like family, and that makes the experience even better.
I also grabbed a crispy fried chicken plate to go and treated myself to a slice of pecan pie. Never skip the pie!
They’re only about a 12-minute drive from the University of West Alabama and for a meat-and-three, they’re veryyyyy reasonably priced!

Good food. The pig feet were delicious, and my husband loved the banana pudding. Good customer service, friendly staff.
Update… still delicious! We enjoyed our dishes, ranging from turkey necks, fried chicken, to pig feet. Consistency is very important and so far this restaurant is good at it!

Food was great and staff extremely nice and professional and very clean place! I love it and don’t get to go inside much to eat but when I do I enjoy it and feel at home. Food so good and fresh! I highly recommend trying it out for anyone who hasn’t or is passing through. God bless!!

If you’re looking for some amazing home cooking this is THE PLACE!!!! The building is very unassuming but trust me when I say everything is amazing!!! We had chicken spaghetti, fried chicken, greens and corn and everything was as if your grandma cooked it from scratch!! The flavor and seasoning were both on point! Its a little off the beaten path but so worth the little cute drive. And the value…..no fast food joint could beat this by a mile!!!

I eat at Mr Larkin’s every chance I get the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is even better. It can be your first time eating there or your last you are always greeted and sent off as family this place knows no strangers everyone is family. You can not experience York Alabama without experiencing Mr Larkin’s. It’s hard to call it a restaurant because it feels so much like home.
