My experience has only been Happy Hour/Dinner so when we stepped off the elevator the lights were dim. The atmosphere was exciting yet loud. Slightly too loud for my comfort, I did find it difficult to hear the people I came with.
Both times I visited we had a large party of 10 or more and they restaurant was accommodating for each visit.
The menu is limited, and somewhat difficult to understand. It’s a very elegant menu but you can easily google anything you are unsure of.
My second visit we did a family style dinner so we got to sample each item which was really nifty. So many of the dishes were absolutely delicious. The desert was phenomenal.
Service was fantastic, we had several waiters with us and they made sure we were taken care of periodically, very friendly.
While the menu is limited, I would definitely return now that I’ve experienced some of them and have an idea on flavors. However I don’t see this as a place I’ll frequent as it is pricey. This place would be a celebratory lunch or dinner for me.
As for the food itself, my party didn’t get a lot of sides, and for the meal, I personally got the Candellini Guardaporia, it was amazing, definitely how I like pasta. I did wish mine was a bit hotter, but I recognize I do like my food hotter than most. A few members of my party got the weekly steak prep (which was a New York strip) and it was honestly pretty good, although I don’t eat steak enough to speak for the masses. I loved the wait staff.
For anyone looking to go here, only things to consider would be the size of food and wait time. The food size was modest (which we were told ahead of time so I had no issue) and the wait time was on the longer end (it probably took us 35 minutes to get served. I think this experience would be perfect for a date or a catch up with friends, because of the vibe, the time to sit and talk, and the portion sizes, it’s a place for conversation.
The service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing, and the staff clearly care about creating a memorable dining experience. As for the food, it’s nothing short of exceptional. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. From the appetizers to the mains, everything was A++.
What truly surprised us, though, was the pricing. For such a stunning venue and top-notch food, the value is outstanding. Lark delivers the kind of experience you’d expect from a high-end restaurant, but at a price point that feels incredibly fair. Whether you’re looking for a special night out or a new favorite spot to impress out-of-town guests, Lark absolutely delivers on every level.
Extra credit for the Lark birthday card and the house vase offered to keep the birthday flowers in.
The barback, who was friendly, eventually took my order, but there wasn’t much follow-up until I was nearly finished with my entree. In contrast, the woman next to me, who ordered a steak and a glass of wine, received attentive, timely service and was even asked about dessert before I had my check.
Food-wise, the beef tartare was excellent, and the pasta was clearly fresh and made with care, though the orchietti was extremely salty. As for drinks, the Diet Coke was flat likely because it came from an already opened mini bottle. I almost sent it back, but with no one checking in, I just switched to water, which was only refilled once until I asked again at the end.
Overall, I think Lark has a lot of potential. The ingredients and preparation show thoughtfulness, especially for a midsized hotel restaurant, but the service felt off. No hello and no goodbye. My experience left me feeling like a second tier guest simply because I wasn’t drinking alcohol. Should have I sat solo in the dining room? All in all, I’d give it 2.5 stars.
