Complaint Regarding Poor Customer Service at Loredo Taco

Dear 7-Eleven/Stripes Management,

I am writing to express my concern regarding a troubling experience I witnessed and personally encountered at the Loredo Taco counter inside your store on 9/28/2025 at 9:55AM.

While waiting in line, I observed a man with his child standing ahead of me. He stepped aside, and it was unclear whether he had placed an order, as no staff member was assisting him. I approached the counter and waited approximately three minutes before anyone acknowledged me, despite a cook being visibly present at the grill. This employee continued making tortillas, even though a container of pre-made tortillas was already available.

Eventually, someone from the back came forward and took my order. As she began preparing my tacos, the woman from the grill turned around and started assembling the man’s beef steak taco. I was surprised it took so long to begin his order, especially since the ingredients were already prepared.

The taco she made contained an excessive amount of white onion and green peppers, with very little steak. The man politely asked for more meat, joking that he’d like “some steak with his vegetable taco.” The cook responded that “this is how they come.” He pointed to the promotional image of the beef steak taco, which clearly showed a meat-heavy portion with minimal vegetables. Despite his clarification that he wasn’t asking for a meat-only taco, just a more balanced one, the cook repeatedly insisted she could only make it “how it comes.”

This exchange occurred three times, with the cook appearing defensive and dismissive rather than listening and resolving the concern. Eventually, she stated she would not adjust the taco, and the man walked away. At that point, both women attending the taco station made unpleasant facial expressions, and one commented, “I don’t like people like that.”

I proceeded to pay and informed the cashier that I would be filing a complaint. The man returned to the taco line, still without resolution, as I sat down to eat.

In my opinion, the behavior of the staff reflected a sense of entitlement and emotional defensiveness. Rather than practicing professional customer service—listening, empathizing, and resolving—the employees responded with passive aggression and rigid language. Customer service requires emotional control and a willingness to accommodate reasonable requests. Smiling, greeting, and apologizing—even when not personally at fault—are basic expectations. None of these were demonstrated during this interaction.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously. The customer’s request was valid, and the staff’s response was inappropriate. I trust that corrective action will be taken to ensure future customers receive respectful and attentive service.
