I normally don’t frequent these fast food places but I was in a hurry. The young lady who took my order and made my food was very nice.
The steak meat was decent. The onions were awesome and the flour tortilla was good. a little pricey at 4.99 per taco but it had a lot of meat on it.
Refried beans were just ok.
The food here is nothing special but it was better than some tacos from Mexican restaurants.

Everything is dry or overcooked and is prepared oddly or incorrectly. For example their carnitas are rubbery deep fried fat chunks, not marbled meat braised in oil as they should be. Can’t visually tell apart the beef from the pork. The chicken is like eating pencil erasers it’s so rubbery. Beans are obviously from dehydrated and have no flavor. Rice is passable but way too salty. Enchiladas look like they’re store bought and just warmed up. After that, I gave up trying to find simething salvageable on the menu. Besides, everything gave me wicked heartburn all day.
I had coupons for Laredo because I was a regular Speedy Cafe customer and I occasionally worked late in the area. I wouldn’t even eat this food if you paid me.
The speedy cafe was by no means gourmet food but way above average for gas station fare. Subs were almost as good as subway. Pizzas were surprisingly decent as well and even for $5 were better than the competition like Little Cesars.
Laredos is an insult to TexMex food. I forsee a closure somewhere in the near future for this location. There are a dozen taquerias within 5 min walking distance from here that are not only better but more authentic and far cheaper. That’s the most insulting thing- it is super expensive and super low quality. Even taco bell blows it out of the water. Edit: Kitty-corner from the Laredo, a Cilantro is now being built. Even less reason to visit.
On top of that the customer service is SO RUDE. On my first visit a handicapped African American gentleman complained that his order was incorrect and got 2 heaping scoops of attitude from the 16 year old girl who messed up his order. Then at checkout was berated again by a light skinned Latin woman with dark curly hair at the top of her lungs. It was so crowded and I was so embarrassed for him, I’ve never seen a customer treated so poorly and for THEIR MISTAKE no less. She was wearing a different color shirt than the rest of the crew so I assume she is the store manager. The only nice employee I encountered was a redhead named Shannon (I think, I’m bad with names). The least you could do when serving prison grade slop and proceed to charge people an arm and leg for it is smile while you seperate them from their hard earned blue collar money.
Tldr: Below TB quality texmex at above Chipotle prices served with a side of condescension and passive aggression.
Laredo Taco has awesome tacos!
I had the carnitas taco and the Piccadillo taco both served on a flour tortilla!
They are from Texas so it only makes sense they serve thier taco’s on a flour tortilla.
Way to be true to their Texas roots.
The (2) taco platter was 10 bucks and came with rice and beans.
AWESOME DEAL!
The meal filled me up and was very very tasty;
Another reason to go to Speedway!
Delicious food with a good variety of options surely to please many appetites.
