Excellent conchas and good orejas, even at 6pm. I am looking forward to trying their apple fritters next time. Thought they were out of conchas but they had trays of them in the kitchen. Soft and fluffy, so good!

1962 in Harlingen,Texas i would stand in line to get my Mexican bread and surrounded by the smell of heavenly baked bread of all kinds.
I visited just recently i again stood in line to get my share of marranitos, conchas, sugar cookies,hearts, semitas de mantecca o regular.
Did i complain about waiting for 30 minutes?
No, because I was surrounded by the smell of the wonderful best tasting Mexican bread bakef by the Worlds best Panaderos ” bread bakers.
My clothes my hair smelled delisioso of that wonderful smelling and tasting Mexican Bread from Lara’s Bakery.
The church bells can be heard not far from the bakery.

I drove 28 miles from my house in Brownsville to Lara’s Bakery in Harlingen to buy sweet bread for my girlfriend who is under the weather. She loves their sweet bread. I arrived 10 minutes before Lara’s Bakery opened. There was a line of people waiting outside. This is how good tasting sweet bread is sold here. Two ladies attending the customers are fast and friendly. Majority of customers were taking boxes of sweet bread plus a couple of bags..

Now they take Debit Cards too! Friendly and Fast Service. What holds up the line is the customers when they get to the display cases and seeing all the great sweet stuff. Some hold the line cause they are on the phone telling the other person what is available

I have always heard good things about this place.
It always looks packed. However, this being my first time going there, I can see why it always looks packed. There’s almost nowhere to park.
The sweet bread was good. I was a little bit, disappointed with the wait time, even though I had ordered hours ahead.
Overall, I can see why people really like this bakery and I hope to come back at sometime. Maybe it was just the morning rush.
