so, I’ve been coming here since about 2018 I think. and let me tell you… it is my FAVORITE RESTAURANT EVER. the food is excellent, every dish I’ve had is amazing bit my repeat order (even the workers memorized my order because I get it so much) is larb kai with seen savnh (both pictured), sticky rice, and thai iced coffee. I cannot recommend this place enough, the prices are reasonable, the taste is otherworldly, and the selection is small but makes for only the freshest of food (I’ve burnt my mouth at times from the freshness, and my own eagerness!)

Food is good but not worth visiting the area. Let’s face it, Broadway around 7th isn’t the best spot. I am glad people support this business, and Lao’s Kitchen does have an eat in area with a lot of authentic items. However, the person taking orders is a feisty one—I want customer service with a smile not an attitude like it’s a privilege to be waited upon. Also, have an online menu. And throw in a menu when you pick up a food order. Ordering shouldn’t be such a complicated, stressful endeavor. Take down or have taken down old photos from six years ago showing items that are no longer available. And no, “go to Facebook” is lazy; not all of us have a Facebook. Until this place gets its act together, I have other choices.

So far I have tried the seen savahn, chicken pho, and sticky rice which all comes w nice portions. I want to try more but the pho is so dang good! I really love the hole in the wall feel of this place and the quality of the food. Every time it comes out fast made with fresh, quality ingredients. I recommend it to anyone looking to have authentic Lao food. Please support this small business!

Disregard the few negative reviews, each meal is made with the best ingredients and the house made sauces are top tier.
The crab Rangoon are absolutely addictive , and the egg rolls have the perfect outside crunch that you won’t find anywhere in town, happy wok couldn’t top it.
If you haven’t been here yet then you really are sleeping on this place and should go check it out for yourself to see what your taste buds are missing .

The food is amazing! Best Pho, sausage and Nam Kao I have ever tried! I will definitely come back again when in town. The owner and lady who served us are super friendly!!! I totally recommend this place to anyone visiting or who are in town.

I thought the food was delicious and I quite liked the environment as well. My suspicion is that there is a whole subset of Rockford residents who wouldn’t consider a place like this simply because it is on Broadway which, let’s face it, isn’t in the *prime* of its life as a commercial corridor. But I’d urge anyway to get past any of that and give this place a shot. Well worth it.

Our family goes here almost every week if not every other week. We had some food at a party and my grandparents now go here for the egg rolls weekly. Pho, Chicken fried rice, Pad Krapow, egg rolls and crab raggoon are my favorites that’s I’m tried so far. Definitely my favorite place.
