Hu Tong is the term for streets and lanes typical of traditional living arrangements in many parts of China. At these places, the most authentic cuisines were created. Recipes and methods have been preserved and passed down from generation to generation. We strive to provide you the most authentic Hu Tong experience.

My husband and I came here for the first time tonight and WOW I just found my new favorite restaurant. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The flavor of the soup dumplings, the broth and the tender pork was incredible. Every single dish we got was a 100 out of 10, I can’t wait to come back and try more. Prices are good and it’s a really cute place. Great waiter/service too!
Edited to add: since our first meal I’ve come back at least 4 more times and have tried many dishes with my husband and it is always absolutely delicious! Loving the new beef wrap! Thanks for the wonderful food.

Love the food and atmosphere here. The soup dumplings are delicious. My favorite meal is the Shrimp Noodle. Also, their takeout presentation is amazing. Most of the time, restaurants give you a paper bag, portions can seem smaller etc. Not here. The bag the takeout comes in is so nice, you will want to reuse it, and it is designed to keep your food warm. The chopsticks were actually good quality and the packaging the food was in kept the noodles separated from the sauce! 5 stars

It was literally so good. My friend and I like to try new places and this one by far has been my favorite. Their Hu Tong soup dumplings are literally so good especially during the colder weather. The Jang Jang Noodles were so good, the noodles were chewy and flavorful. Our server was so sweet. She even talk to us a little bit Totally worth it!

For a native Beijinger, the name of the restaurant evokes a sense of nostalgia for home. Upon entering, it feels like a warm and cozy little eatery. The staff are friendly and provide attentive service.
The food tastes quite good. I ordered the hot and sour noodles, which were genuinely both sour and spicy—very satisfying to eat. The braised beef, however, wasn’t tender enough. This seems to be a common issue with braised beef in restaurants—prioritizing presentation over tenderness. The pickled vegetables tasted good but were a bit salty. In fact, it seems like all the dishes were on the salty side… very salty.
That said, the overall experience was still quite good. The prices aren’t exactly cheap—this isn’t the kind of place where you can simply walk in, grab a steaming bowl of noodles, and fill your stomach. It’s a place where you’ll need to spend a bit more.

The food is delicious! I ordered online to pick up, and the bag and packaging were very good quality. The bag is a special one to keep the food warm, which I appreciate it. It’s the first time I see this type of bags in restaurant. So the first impression was great! Then I tried the food, and it was delicious as expected. I ordered the beef brisket noodle soup. The ingredients seem to be high quality, they also added a good portion of beef which I really liked, and all the flavors were well balanced. I will definitely comeback.

Great service and food.
Editing: Went again on 1/23 and the food was just as great. We got soup dumpling, chicken noddle soup, and beef brisket soup.
We were also offered a sample of pepper soup, Tofu and fried dough on the side that their chief was testing. I wish I expressed more how much I liked it. I have been thinking about it all day. I hope it is added to the menu it was delicious.

Everything here was delicious! I got sesame noodles and the surf and turf dumplings. The sesame sauce was creamy, nutty, and complex. The dumplings had shrimp, pork, and chive and they were some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had! You could tell that they even made the dumpling wrappers from scratch. I liked the decorations and ambiance and the waitress was very nice.

This place is remarkably good. There are a lot of unusual dishes, all of them delicious. I tend to have the sour soup with vegetable dumplings. It’s so delicious. This is definitely my favourite restaurant in the Amherst/Northampton area!

Since it was raining and a bit chilly, I was craving some noodle soup. Luckily, I found this beautifully decorated Chinese-style restaurant. The place was really clean, which is a big plus because a lot of older Chinese restaurants in the U.S. tend to be dirty, with greasy surfaces and bad odors—places I definitely avoid. But the moment I saw the entrance to this restaurant, I had a good feeling about it!
As for the food, everything was fantastic! The flavors were on point, and it was all super delicious. The handmade noodles were especially noteworthy—the broth was rich and flavorful, tasting like it was made from real chicken, not the typical MSG-heavy broth you often get in Chinese restaurants here. The texture of the noodles was perfectly chewy and springy, which is rare to find in the U.S. The soup dumplings were also excellent, the skins were thin, the soup inside was juicy, and the meat filling wasn’t too salty.
I’m so happy to have found such a great Chinese restaurant!
