I remember when this place was new. It’s been a few years, but they have managed well to stay relevant and current. Nice brunch options on Sunday and glad to find it open early.

LBC is a FAR cry from the place it once was even a couple years ago. The food menu is a shadow of what it once was – I know they say that in the restaurant business to focus on a few things and do them well, but unless you only want a mediocre burger or sandwich, go somewhere else. Gone are the fried pickles, fish and chips and one of my favorites – chicken and savory waffles. The menu looks like a pamphlet more than a menu.
They appear to be perpetually understaffed as well – we went on a Saturday night. It was busy, but not full. We waited 10 minutes before a staff member even came over to us as we waited by the entrance to be seated even though we were the only ones in line and there were several empty tables. I think there were a total of 4 staff members for the entire restaurant. When we got to our table, our server, who was also the bartender, seemed frazzled and almost annoyed with having to take our order. He spoke so fast we could barely understand him. When we told him we wanted to look at the menu for a few minutes, he turned and took off like a shot without another word.
It took a total of 30 seconds to a minute to look through the menu, and then we waited for the sever to return. After about 10 to 15 minutes, the server/bartender hadn’t returned to take our drink order. As we walked out, we noticed many other tables with no food or drinks, or just drinks. I don’t think the server even noticed as we left.
If you’re just going for a drink the beer is good and the atmosphere is great, especially in the summertime. But if you’re going for good food and good service, go somewhere else. There are so many other brewpubs in the Lansing area with better food, beer and service.

Fun, downtown brewery close to the Lugnuts Stadium and the Capitol. Seating was plenty, both indoors and outdoors. The food was delicious with a variety of menu items to choose from. We enjoyed the Spartan Dip and Garlic Parmesan Bread Bites for appetizers. For dinner, we had everything from the Sweet Potato Salad, Ribeye, Mac & Cheese, Chef Salad, to the Chicken Tenders. Service was a bit lacking. It was difficult to get our waitresses attention, and then when we were ready for the bill, we saw her clock out and leave. It was until about 10 minutes later another person from behind the bar came to our table and when we asked if she had left, we were told she could leave because it was slow and that tips are shared. It wasn’t slow, and our 2 other tables of 4+ experienced this.

Service was slow but only because the server had too many tables assigned to her. She was very nice. Olive burger and onions were awesome. Chicken wings were crazy burnt and served with BBQ when we asked for Louisiana sauce. Chicken wrap with salad was great. Kids smash burger with green beans were good. Kids mini corn dogs were extremely overcooked though the fries it came with were spot on. There are too many things to list that we tried to order, and they were out of. The beer was good. I will come back, but I will differently complain next time if the food isn’t on par.

After driving 3 hours we wanted a beer and food. That’s it.. We arrived after standing around for 5 minutes with NO HOST or SERVER to see us.. We decided to seat ourselves with 5 severs standing around in a corner talking and just starting .. They acknowledge us setting ourselves.. The bartender at the seen we Sat down in his section. He stated you can sit there.. We did . NoW the BARTENDER return to his conversation with another guy at the barn until HE ASK FOR OTHER GUY PHONE NUMBER. With US just SITTING there waiting for Service. Finally after 17 minutes no one coming around to request our desired drinks or providing us menus they bartender walks over.. ONLY BRIng sliverware .. Takes out drink order.. Does NOT GO GET our Drinks or put our appitorizr order in….. HE GOES RIGHT another table only to talks for additional 10 minutes….. STIll NOT PUTTING our order or getting our drinks… Then he goes to anothet 3 tables and still not getting anyone drinks or putting in anyone’s order! He ask for another guys number..
Finally, a female comes over asks is there anything I can get for you.. Sadly we unleashed our ffruastions on her .. In the mean time the bartender has yet to deliver our drink after 20 minutes of ordering them .. We WALKED OUT!!

We hadn’t been to LBC in a minute. We were VERY surprised when we arrived at 11:35am on a Sunday morning and all they offer is brunch. It might be just me, but if I’m walking into a bar/restaurant around noon, I expect to be able to get normal lunchtime food (i.e. burgers, sandwiches, etc.) While we all enjoyed what we ordered, we will not be back on the weekend if all they are going to offer is brunch until 3pm.

Typical gastro pub. Food is not as important to most patrons as the drinks. Not that the food is bad, just average while the choices in each category is more limited than a normal restaurant. I tried the shrimp mac and cheese since I was told it wasn’t spicy. It was spicy and the shrimp was on the side. Another in our party got the rock shrimp since she was told it wasn’t spicy and had to take the breading off to eat it.
Music a little loud, but still able to hear that people at the table. They seem to have lots of seating but on busy times you should get a reservation.

We came here in the mid afternoon and it was pretty quiet. We sat down and waited to be greeted by a server for over 10 minutes, ordered our drinks and then we had a new server. We were pretty happy with the new server, she was friendly and attentive and was attentive tonwhen our drinks were getting low. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was really nice.
