I went to Lanna Thai for lunch and asked the waitress to pick something for me. Her name was Thai, like the restaurant, but spelled differently. She recommended the Pad Basil with Thai Jasmine Rice, and it was incredible — not spicy, just packed with flavor, fresh vegetables, and perfectly cooked rice.
After I finished eating, Thai came over, and we ended up talking for a bit. She was so friendly and genuine — we shared a few laughs and talked about life. It really made the whole experience even better.
If you’re looking for authentic Thai food, great service, and a place that leaves you smiling when you walk out, go to Lanna Thai. Let Thai pick your meal — trust me, she won’t steer you wrong.

We waited 20+ minutes for our soups, both of which were tasty. Our server then brought our entrees like 3 minutes later, before we were anywhere near finishing our soup. Other people ordered after us and received therecentrees before we received our soup. Penang and Massaman sauces were tasty, but the amount of chicken and vegetables was decidedly light, especially in those large bowls. We didn’t overeat.

Ordered delivery. They don’t mess around. I ordered their special fried rice – there was plenty shrimp and meat, and the rice had that wok hei flavor. If a staple like fried rice is good then this bodes well for the rest of the menu. My fiancé loved the coconut curry. I look forward to trying other items on the menu.

I had a solid experience here yesterday from the food to the service. The portions, pricing and quality of the food was super reasonable and the service was very attentive. I ordered the chicken satay for my meal and the mango sticky rice for dessert since it was in season.
The chicken satay was seasoned well and super tender. It was piping hot, but I couldn’t resist biting into it once it arrived since it smelled so good. I couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was seasoned with but it reminded me of similar spices I have tasted in Indian cuisine. The peanut curry sauce and the sweet pickled cucumbers it came with were amazing too. Honestly, the peanut curry sauce was so good you could drink it.
The mango sticky rice was a great way to end the meal. I’ve never had it before, but I really enjoyed it. The warm sticky rice was comforting, and I really loved the subtle nuttiness from the sweet coconut milk sauce. I would’ve happily taken a cup of that coconut milk sauce to go. The mangos were tender as well. I did find them to be lacking just a bit in flavor but we’re also in Minnesota so I’m not expecting top tier mango quality.
This was the first time I have had authentic Thai food and it definitely won’t be my last. I added this restaurant to my favorites list, and I will definitely be back to explore more of the menu in the future!

This is the best Thai food in mn! I’ve had pas Thai everywhere. My favorite place was in Chicago that’s no longer there and for the last 10 years I’ve been searching for a place as good as that place. Today I found it!
I live on the east side of the cities and all the Thai food out there just misses a big mark. The places in St. Paul I’ve never been impressed with Been to all of them. (Seriously)
Pad Thai. Phenomenal. The drunken noodles. Phenomenal. Pineapple fried rice very good. Chicken satay was good too.

I have ordered through DoorDash for pad Thai and Thai fried rice with chicken.
I think they gave me an old fried rice order that may have already been overly in the fridge or maybe it was made for someone else’s chicken meat wasn’t that tender tasted old, and burnt along with some of the rice they went and refried my order. That’s what it looks like.
Pad Thai has no taste both were dry which mean they did not use enough grease or did it use enough and re-fry my food
What the heck Thai food supposed to be greasy!! Both of those go box were open upon receiving the order. That’s not good. I have never been into any Asian restaurant that to go box were open left open to be delivered. I get it you might’ve gave my order to the wrong driver or you gave me an old food next time you should’ve made me a new food to serve me, but it won’t be next time because I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Food was decent. Their curry with the fish was delicious and the drunken noodles were good. The chicken laab is refreshing but a bit dry for my liking. Service was bad and space was tight. One of our dish never came out because our server didn’t place it and the wait time was over 20 minutes. I personally would not come back.

Amazing food and options, we’re shocked when we saw how good the price is for the portion sizes!! Also has a lot of vegetarian options if that’s what you’re looking for. The dessert was perfect, we got the ice cream as well as the mango sticky rice dessert, which were both so delicious! The waitress was so sweet as well as the owner Apple who we got to talk to. Definitely will be coming back and recommending to a lot of people!!

Lanna Thai’s food is as good as what we had in Thailand. The service is always great and I’ve never had a bad dish here. I also love that they have true vegan and vegetarian options. Their prices are reasonable to begin with, but they also have a great lunch special, even on the weekends. Would absolutely recommend this place!
