Finally found an authentic crack seed store. They have a large selection of both packaged and by weight products in old style jars, made in the islands. Remember Yick Lung?

They only take cash so be prepared. Definite repeat.

I am not big on snacking but my daughter and father-in-law are and there stamp of approval is a good thing. Very clean, bright and organized shop. With pandemic only two guests allowed at a time back in Dec 2021. My daughter was impressed with selection of candies especially the Airheads, which were cheaper as singles than most places on Oahu. They had a good selection of island favorites like li hing mui and other crack seed stuff packaged. Will be back.

Lani’s Island Snacks – Dried Mango DelightI tried the dried mango snack from Lani’s Island Snacks, and wow—what a tropical treat! Perfectly chewy, naturally sweet, and bursting with sun-kissed flavor. It’s like a bite of Hawaii in every piece. Definitely a must-try if you love fruit done right!

A must stop anytime you are in HILO.

Don’t go anywhere else in Hilo except here! The food was absolutely delicious- no frills, authentic, traditional, homemade, Hawaiian foods. Incredibly sweet and kind people working there, something about it felt like home. I can see myself if I lived in Hilo that this would be my regular spot. Make sure you go inside and buy some snacks!!

I love the variety of snacks that they have at Lani’s. The dried lemon is amazing!! Also try the gummy bears with lemon peel. It’s all so great to stop in and get ice shave on a hot day with kids. What’s even better is that they have ice shave that is sugar free and doesn’t ruin my diet. This place is located close to the airport so perfect for a quick stop to bring omiyage for travel. I have sent a few care packages stuffed with goodies from here.

Lani’s always go above and beyond to satisfy their customers. If it’s not in stock, they will notify you when it arrives. They will also ship orders to outside destinations. Talk about the ALOHA SPIRIT. It is so awesome to encounter a business where you feel like family…..

Do not go to this place. Worst experience ever. When we opened the door to walk in they very rudely told us that we had to wait. After closing the door we saw a small sign that said only 2 customers at a time. But the screen is so dark that you can not see inside so how could we have known. They could have asked nicely we are more that willing to comply. After we get inside they are not wearing any masks and they have kids walking around behind the counter. When I asked about the masks. She was rude again. She said that they all live in the same household and that they don’t have to wear mask only the customer. Mind you these people are serving icecream and other food while preparing it with no mask or gloves. I told her that if they all get infected then they are putting their customers at risk by not wearing a mask. She then tried to argue with us again! We left we highly reccomend not going here ever. Worst customer service ever.

Local snacks if you like just something simple to snack on or craving that musubi, taro chips, cotton candy or teriburger. Lani’s snack shack is the place to go. Reminds me of the old kawate seed shop.
