Lanier House Tea Room & Private Venue! We are located on 20 Martin Street in the historic district of Downtown Madison. Our hope is to create a beautiful atmosphere open for anyone to join us for a lovely afternoon tea. Our space will also be available for private venue bookings. We want to bring something special to the Madison area. Bridal luncheons, tea with an old or new friend, birthdays, baby showers, children’s parties, rehearsal dinners and more will all find their perfect space here. My absolute favorite tea room!! I’ve been to most of the tea rooms across Alabama and this surpasses the rest by far!! Always such a fun menu, great experience, and tasty food. I try to bring my family when they’re visiting but also love going with my friends every few weeks. Would beyond recommend visiting here!!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day by having tea at Lanier House for the first time, and it was wonderful! The tea was great, and the food was delicious. I love the detail put into the themed menu and the decor. The servings were small as expected, but it was very filling and worth it. The servers were also really sweet and attentive. I’ll definitely be back soon with my friends 🙂

Just left the fundraiser for the PJR Collective. It was our first time having tea here and we will absolutely be back! Lanier House being so so so generous with this nonprofit endeared themselves to us as much as the food! Everything was delicious. My 11 year old ate everything and wants to come back, too! Highly recommend!

This place is such a vibe! I used to do afternoon teas all the time in Korea, and this seriously gave me some boujee bestie nostalgia vibes!!! I loved it! Every girl needs to feel like a queen/princess & this place does just that. They do a great job with an afternoon tea! I loved it! My Canadian & British friends would’ve loved it as well! Absolutely LOVE coming here and sampling all of the teas and scrumptious finger foods! I love the ambiance and being able to take time to slow down and have quality time with the people that matter in my life. The service is great, attentive and knowledgeable. Update: We come every month and look forward to it immensely. The Sweet Home Alabama menu was our favorite thus far; the Connucah and cheese scone, and peach ice cream and blackberry cobbler were simply Divine. Also, Divine is the service, with young women in beautiful dresses and even more beautiful smiles and attitudes, especially Destiny and Abigail. If Alabama Magazine hasn’t featured Lanier House yet, the need to. A real gem!
First timers today; it far exceeded our expectations and we’re already looking forward to returning soon. We’re from DC and are accustomed to tea at the Ritz.
