Took off one star for distribution of lemons instead of limes for my pho and giving me 2 jalapeno slices. They did accommodate more and the pho broth was incredibly clean and flavorful.

Def the best DAC BIET I’ve had in a long time

If you’re in Charlotte and haven’t been to Lang Van, you’re missing out on a true local staple. The food is always on point—fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious every single time. You can taste the care that goes into every dish.

And the service? Absolutely top-tier. Lam provides some of the best service in Charlotte—so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. She makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in.

Lang Van never disappoints. Five stars every time! ⭐️

While we had an extended wait to get a table the staff was very kind and attentive even while extremely busy. This is clearly a restaurant that has HUGE community ties. The food was delicious we had never tried quail but got it because an employee recommended it and it was fantastic extremely well seasoned. We decided to come because of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Award it earned and can happily say it lived up to the hype. See you tomorrow!

Visiting from New York. Food was very delicious and fresh. My friend and I started with the summer rolls and wow! Incredible flavor and texture. Defintiely better than the summer rolls out in NY. Peanut sauce was addicting. For my entree I had the 101, chicken platter and added an egg to it. Amazing. The chicken portion was a bit thin compared to some other portions I’ve had but it was flavorful and fresh nonetheless. Fish sauce was good- definitely a different recipe that I wasnt used to but there was an authenticity to it. To end, I got the spring rolls. Absolutely out of this world especially when paired with the sauces. I was full but I kept finding myself taking another bite!

Staff was very friendly and accommodating and Tao is a sweetheart. Would definitely come back here next time I’m In Charlotte.

The food was good. The summer rolls tasted fresh and had a good amount of shrimp. I hadn’t had carrots in the peanut sauce before and while it was different, it proved a twist I didn’t hate with the appetizer. The pho was ok. I agree with those who said it lacked depth, however, there was plenty of meat, noodles, and (for me at least) fresh herbs to go with the entree. I will say you will probably never get better service at an Asian restaurant. The place was packed and yet the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had to wait for 20 minutes as the spot is small. Several staff members apologized and did their best to seat us as fast as they could. I even received a small pitcher of sweet tea so my glass was never less than half full. A guy was designated to only fill waters so my friend ab and I could barely get a sip in before he refilled our glasses. Parking was extremely limited so we were a bit nervous about our spot but it worked out and in the end it was a good experience! I would likely go back- just not get the pho next time and maybe try around lunch so it’s not so packed!

I’m not sure there is a night of the week that Charlotte does not go out! We went on a Tuesday night, braving the traffic and a 40 minute wait for a table. It was so cute and festive inside! There were two sides with maybe 16-18 tables. We tried some staples- a vermicelli bowl, pho, and spring rolls. The rolls were hot, crispy and delicious. The pho was good- I am used to places with a greater quantity of toppings, but what came with it was adequate. The vermicelli bowl was good- nice and light and fresh tasting. We enjoyed our trip there, but maybe will try for an off time or lunch rather than peak dinner time!

We visited this restaurant a while ago, and I originally wasn’t going to leave a review because I don’t enjoy posting negative feedback. But I’ve been seeing it recommended more often, so I think it’s important to share what happened.

When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t busy, yet our server seemed uninterested from the start. Throughout our visit, the owner walked around talking to every table except ours, and it happened twice. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but as the night went on it became hard to ignore.

Our server also seemed frustrated with us even though we ordered right away and were nothing but polite. What really stood out was watching her be warm, energetic, and friendly with other tables but not with us. I even asked the person I was dining with if we could have said or done something wrong, and we genuinely couldn’t think of anything.

Toward the end of our meal, our server never came back to check on us or bring the bill, so we eventually had to go to the window to pay. A regular who was sitting beside us mentioned she had never seen service take that long there and even suggested we go up and pay because she couldn’t understand why we were still waiting.

I don’t like bringing race into things, but the only difference I noticed was that in our section we were the only people of color. I’m African American and the person I was with is Indian. The food was good, but I personally don’t want to spend my money somewhere that made me feel ignored while everyone else around us was met with kindness and attention.

We still tipped well because I didn’t want to feed into any subconscious bias they may have already had against us. Even so, the experience left us feeling like our presence didn’t matter. There are so many restaurants in Charlotte where people of all backgrounds feel welcomed, and unfortunately this wasn’t one of them for us.

I really wanted to like the food but it wasn’t a hit for me. The broth was salty and not rich in flavor. The noodles were undercooked as well as the rice for the rice plate. For 3 entrees priced under $20, our bill somehow came up to $76 which was shocking to me. I don’t understand how taxes racked up that high. I won’t be returning nor do I recommend this place. The reviews of the food may have been overhyped for me. Regardless of the food, this has nothing to do with the service. Service was amazing and everyone was very kind. I’m just disappointed in the food and pricing.
