Dangerous Fire Hazard and Environmental Negligence

I am writing this to highlight a severe and ongoing safety issue. Given that this condo complex already has a history of two major fires, the way this restaurant manages its waste is not just negligent—it’s a massive liability.

For over a year, they have been storing used cooking oil in a manner that defies basic safety standards. For months, they used old oil containers that were literally breaking and falling apart—rusted, corroded, and leaking. They have finally replaced them with a “new” setup, but as the photos show, it is already leaking oil all over the ground.

The evidence of this mismanagement is everywhere:

• Significant Fire Risk: The concrete is heavily stained and saturated with leaked oil. In a building that has already survived two major fires, leaving combustible grease to pool on the pavement and coat the exterior is incredibly dangerous.

• Property Damage & Odor: A thick, greasy residue has built up on the windows, and the rancid smell of old oil has been a constant plague on the neighbourhood.

• Sanitary Concerns: If this is the level of “care” they show for hazardous waste in plain view of the public, I shudder to think what the hygiene and safety standards are like inside the kitchen.
This is a blatant disregard for fire safety protocols and community health. It is unacceptable to put an entire building at risk because of lazy waste management.

I celebrated my birthday last night at Lang and couldn’t have asked her a better experience. The place was buzzing. Nearly every table is full and the door kept swinging open with new guests. It was wonderful to see the restaurants thriving.
what truly stood out, though was the exceptional hospitality for the first time in a long time at any restaurant, I felt genuinely cared for as a customer. I asked about a few menu items, hoping to break away from our usual go to dishes, (which we still ended up ordering!) To my surprise. The owner personally came out and offered me a sample of the lemon grass soup a small gesture that made a big impact. It wasn’t just about the food it was about making us feel welcome and giving us a reason to come back. The atmosphere is phenomenal as always, and the food never disappoints. Lang continues to be a gem not just for its flavours but for the heart behind its service!

Lang’s on the water was amazing! The place was super clean, the service was great, and the food was incredible. The lemongrass soup is honestly the best I’ve ever had — I always order extra just so I can take some home. And the view of the lake is absolutely beautiful, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely one of my favorite spots. I’ll be back for sure!

Great experience here at Lang on the Water. We came for lunch on Sunday Feb 15 – had 2 young ladies wait on us – very attentive and friendly. Food was presented beautifully, tasted delicious and great portion sizes. Complements to the chef. There was a lady behind us who was giving these girls a hard time (unfairly and undeservedly) and they handled it professionally and calmly. Complements to both of them for their management of the situation. Would highly recommend Lang for the food, the atmosphere, and the service.

Great experience at Lang on the Water! Small pho and lemongrass grill chicken rice were plenty for two, and they generously added “huge” sizes of lemongrass grilled chicken. Lovely ambiance and stunning Lake Ontario views – could even see Mississauga and downtown Toronto!

*Photo below shows what’s left over after finishing a piece of grill chicken and some rice…*

This place has a great view across Lake Ontario to the shores of Toronto. Service was quick and friendly. Food was delivered quickly, hot and portions were extremely generous. So pleased to see vegan choices on the menu.

Service was a mixed experience as nobody really checked up on us while eating, we were asked to box our own leftovers (vs having the kitchen put the leftover food into boxes which is the norm), then giving us the bill and having to wait to pay only to give up on waiting and I decided to go inside myself to pay instead of waiting for someone to come out with a machine. Food was good.

This is a breathtaking spot by the water. The restaurant was clean and esthetically pleasing and quiet.
The view: spectacular! Atmosphere, is an easy 5.

The service was efficient and attentive but not overly inviting or welcoming so I’ll go with a 4.

We started with Spring Rolls…they were delicious and I’d definitely order those again.

The food was okay. He had Bo Né which was a skillet containing well done beef, egg, cheese and fries. It came with a bun and sauce which seemed a strange pairing. He did like it, but wouldn’t order it next time.

I, of course, had the Pad Thai. It was a decent Pad Thai but for me I dislike large pieces of tofu in it…and the shrimps had the tails on them which is a turn off for me. It was medium spiced but slightly bland but I added hot sauce and enjoyed it. The portion was huge and I’m leaving with leftovers.

The view makes this quite a lovely spot. I’ll definitely give it another shot and try something else next time.
