Decent place and the food was tasty. We both had the ribeyes, but want to try the seafood next time. His steak was pretty overdone so I split my MedRare with him since mine was closer to medium (which he wanted). They also ran out of sweet potato and cobbler. We’ll definitely return and hopefully give them that fifth star if things improve. They did have quite an assortment of jellies, honey, preserves, wine, juice, cider, and jarred veggies for sale up front, which we enjoyed.

Had an excellent wine tasting. Nate was very knowledgeable of the wines. Had a cheese, okra, jalapeño, and pickle plate. With crackers on the side.

Went Aug of 2024 with friends. Had been several years since first visit. Everything the same. Food nothing special, only grilled seafood is salmon, everything else fried.
Salad only comes with the steak. If you want one with anything else costs $5 for a sparse salad.
Otherwise it’s country vegetables.
Only wine is the sweet stuff that’s like Duplin wine. Won’t get chardonnay, merlot, or anything close.
Pricey for what you are getting. White Swan BBQ is better.

I’m torn because while the service was great, the food was just ok.

We got a bottle of wine to start because it was 6$ for a glass or 12$ for a bottle. You might as well go with a bottle at that point. I was actually extremely pleased with the wine, it’s a muscadine wine called Happy and I was very happy drinking it.
The hush puppies were good, you get a large basket while waiting for your food. The boyfriend got a salad to go with his meal and it was a little lacking. 2 slices of tomato, an onion slice, and some lettuce (I think there was something else on the salad but can’t remember). Nothing special about the salad here.
I ordered the salmon with sweet potatoes and green beans, he ordered a steak. The boyfriend was extremely happy with the steal, he said it was cooked perfectly. My salmon was subpar. Minimal seasoning, no sauce. It was just a piece of fish on the plate. I really wish there was some more seasoning or some sauce to top it because it was lacking.
I am planning on going back to try the fried seafood options to see if that is any better.

The staff were friendly. The lady at the checkout and the hostess were kind, it didn’t take long at all to be seated. The owners came and checked in twice while we were eating and greeted the people around the restaurant.

The vineyards are beautiful to drive into as you pull up to the restaurant. The views are perfect. I wish there were more windows in the restaurant so you could look out at the vineyards while you eat.

Again, I’ll definitely give them another try, but for a first visit and a place so close to me, I was hoping for it to be better.

Great little hidden gem restaurant! The service was great and the food was just as good. We all got the steak and shrimp and nobody was disappointed, nor did we leave hungry. Not to mention, the peach cobbler was the cherry on top. Give this place a try and I think you’ll be happy.

Great hidden seafood restaurant in the McGee’s Crossroads area. My first visit in 30 years. Seafood was delicious and so are the hushpuppies. Service was great as well. Highly recommend.

Great hidden gem, local classic, tucked away on their vineyard. Quite spot and old school steakhouse. Only open a few days a week for dinner.

My family brought me here for my birthday celebration. We had a great time.
The atmosphere was cozy, elagent, and charming. The staff was warm, inviting, and accommodating. The owner even came to ask us how our experience was. I could go on about the staff, but one thing that impressed me was the food quality. It is important to me where the source of seafood comes from. As well as the salt levels in the food. The seafood are said to be wild caught and the sodium levels are low.
The prices are very reasonable (food and spirits). Plus, the WINE is NICE!
The only reason I did not give a level 5 is because the bathroom is tiny and cramped.
Did I tell you. We had a nice celebration.

A dinning pleasure!!! We drive a little over an hour to get to Lane’s. Don’t miss it! The food is absolutely amazing. (My personal favorite is the Bang-Bang shrimp.) The staff is friendly and the owner comes around to ask if everything was good. The restaurant has wonderful views, complete with rockers on the porch. They hit 5 stars on every level, food, service and atmosphere. They do have wheelchair access, for those who might need it. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss it!
