Landscape Restaurant & Grill creates unforgettable dining experiences in the heart of Hobart’s Hunter Street waterfront precinct. Our love for the exquisite produce of our island home has inspired our goal: to constantly push the benchmark for premium dining in Tasmania. Adding to the unique quality of our dishes is the unrivalled environment in which they’re served – the historic walls of the IXL jam factory, surrounded by the iconic art of John Glover.

With a casual non-pretencious vibe, they focus on the quality of the food. The flavors of the Australian steaks here are phenomenal, just look at the pictures. They are fresh, aromatic, and perfectly grilled. I felt the warmth of Aussie grass in each bite! So worth it !
While you can admire the art pieces, order some wine by the glass, great options. I ended the meal with 3 desserts – all delicious.
What a wonderful meal
The char grilled octopus was tender and well‑seasoned, with a beautiful balance of char and freshness that set the tone for the meal. The duck fat fried potato galette was a standout side: crisp on the outside, soft and layered inside, and rich without feeling heavy.
For mains, both the eye fillet and wagyu rump cap were cooked exactly to the requested doneness, with deep flavour, excellent texture, and just the right amount of smokiness from the grill.
To finish, the Huon Valley Apple Tart was warm, comforting, and refined, with a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity that rounded out the meal perfectly.
Overall, the experience at Landscape Restaurant & Grill was highly enjoyable, and the table left very happy with both the quality of the food and the way the menu hangs together.
For entrées, we ordered the kingfish sashimi and the calamari. The calamari was the hidden gem—definitely not your usual fried dish, but something elevated and full of flavour, with a chef’s creative touch.
For mains, I had the Wagyu 9+ Robbins Island eye fillet ($120) and it was absolutely worth every bite—rich, juicy, and beautifully cooked. We also had the blue eye trevalla, which was tender, perfectly prepared, and paired with an incredible sauce. The green special salad made a great side, but the real standout at the end was dessert—the apple tart was the perfect final touch.
The wine collection was also outstanding, as you’d expect in Tasmania.
Overall, we had an amazing evening. The food, service, and atmosphere all lived up to the reputation. Be prepared to spend a little—it’s definitely on the premium side—but if you want to treat yourself to a special dining experience, this place is well worth it.
Highly recommend.
For the main, the Wagyu eye fillet was cooked perfectly, rich and tender. The duck fat chips with smoked salt and charcoal aioli were unforgettable — an absolute must-order.
Service was warm and professional, the wine list is exceptional, and the whole dining experience feels refined without being pretentious. A must-visit when in Hobart. I’ll definitely return on my next trip.
Steak although it took around 45mins, it was perfect, along with all the sides and desserts! The environment is quiet and easy to talk with well managed food service order! The time between courses are perfect for talking!
Thank you for your wishes and service! You’ve made my graduation trip even better! Made my parents felt even more relaxed. Best value, best service, best food! Definitely should try this restaurant
