I grew up going to Land n Sea in Peabody 1 to 2 times a week. It used to be one of my favorite spot. I would switch between a roast beef and a fish sandwich with onion ring. It was always good and reliable.
A few year ago I ordered a fish sandwich and the piece of fish was tiny. It did not even come close to fitting the bun. It barely covered the middle. After that I stopped going.
With it being Lent I decided to give it another try today. Same problem. I got home, opened it up, and could not believe it. The fish look more like a fish stick than a filet. It was small and lost in a big bun. (Was also missing the tarter sauce)
I drove back and said something. I was told they are weighed. If that is the case then the portion is the problem. Use a bigger piece of fish and charge more or put it on a smaller roll. What is being served now is not worth it.
It is disappointing to see a place I used to go to all the time put out food like this.

Land&Sea is a local gem! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and they’ve always been consistent. Their seafood is fresh and flavorful, and the roast beef sandwiches are some of the best around. Great food, great service price, and a place that truly stands the test of time.

This place hasn’t missed a beat. I don’t care what anyone says.

Side of scallops
Fake chicken fingers
Hand battered onion rings
Foot long
Chocolate shake that always gives you instant brain freeze and makes your gut jiggle for months

I split this with my father. Place is just as good as it was 35 years ago.

This place gets rave reviews, but it was lacking for me. The portions were great for the clam strip dinner, but my husband felt a bit let down with his haddock.
The tartar sauce was absolutely disgusting to me. It tasted like onion and mayo. There was no tang to it at all. They also did not have cocktail sauce, which I find odd at a seafood place.
The ketchup was clearly watered down as well.
The service was VERY friendly and the place was clean. I’m not sure if I would go there again for seafood, but I wouldn’t mind trying the pastrami.

I had to get my fix of Fried Claims before I flew back home to California. I was not disappointed ❣️

This place is one of my new favorite seafood places. The food was unbelievably delicious, not oily and you can tell it’s definitely fresh. Wouldn’t expect anything less being so close to the ocean. The slaw and the tartar sauce were also delicious up for sure. Usually the slaw is hit or miss for me, it’s difficult to have more than 1 bite. This slaw was different, the flavors are great and I ended up eating most of it.

The wait time was reasonable and the staff were friendly and patient. There is seating inside and plenty of parking. The place looked clean already but even so there was someone walking around cleaning the empty tables while we were there. Their bathroom was also clean. I would definitely recommend this place. It’s worth the drive, money and the time.

Great spot for dine in or takeout in Peabody. My friends and I had a massive order and we were pleased that it only took 10 minutes for it to be ready. The roast beef used on the sandwiches is tender, and they use just the right amount of sauce. Consider a pizza roll or a hot dog as a side and don’t forget the fries! If you’re looking for a classic north shore roast beef, look no further

Finally made it after hearing such great things. I was extremely disappointed. Long story short- they serve regulars before serving people in line, serve small portions for a high price and the food wasn’t great. I got the seafood combo and asked to substitute scallops for haddock. They said they couldn’t but would give me extra clams and shrimp. There’s 6 shrimp on my plate and these are the smallest clams I’ve ever had in my life. The only extra items I had was the tartar sauce. The tables are dirty and no one ever wiped them down in the 45 minutes I was there.

Update: someone wiped the tables

I really tried to like it because I’ve heard a lot of good things, but I just couldn’t.

Pro:
Some of the seafood was good
The service wasn’t bad.

Con:
Almost every single table was dirty with food stains, crumbs, or crumpled up napkins.

The prices compared to the portion and quality was crazy. Pictured is a “super chicken” listed at around 7$. It was a frozen chicken patty with mayo and some wimpy scraps of lettuce.
The Super Roast Beef was $9.50 for a small portion that was very very bland.
The fries were also seemingly a little freezer burnt.
There are SO many better options but with bigger portions, better prices, and better quality. Go to Kelly’s or Supreme Roast Beef if you want food that won’t break the bank make you feel gross.
